*KOMPA MAGAZINE: What is the SECRET…the BLUE PRINT to choosing the collabos you drop your vocals on? Is it whatever song comes your way….if the artist asks you U DOWN; or is it that you have to see POTENTIAL “Hit” in the song, and must know if the artist will push the song; or is it U PAY ME MY ASKING PRICE…U GOT ME…or…Tell us the secret as to what makes the FLAV “Brand” go for a collabo?

FLAV: "Hey Pat...first it's a blessing being in this position to work with both established/well known artists BUT more importantly working with upcoming/lesser known artists. Most complainst I have received from upcoming artists in either Konpa or rap Kreyol is that some of our mega stars refuse to work with them or give them the light of day and I did not wanna be one of those folks who refused to help others.

I'm selective on which project to jump on because of a few factors: timing, the quality of the project, the subject matter but not who the artist is or which genre because I believe EVERYONE deserves a shot.

*Timing: if I have too many projects that I'm working on or that will be out, I have to hold off and space them.

*Quality: Professional standards. I'm always honest and blunt. I always tell them what I like or dislike in order to get it fixed. If not fixed then we drop it.

*Subject: I like to be open but at the same time the subject matter have to meet my standards but that's has not been any problems because most of the artists are open to change.

*Lastly...no one knows if a song will be a hit or not. Therefor it's hard to chose a song based on that and most (90%) of my collabos I write my parts after receiving the instrumental because I like to get involve in the project all the way.

After 6 years in this business it's a blessing to be the "GO TO GUY" for many and I welcome it with PRIDE and JOY. Flav the "Collabo KING" I love it Pat, it has a nice ring to it lol.

By the way after the new Jim Rama collabo that just came out...I have 5 well known Zouk/Kizomba artists ...3 of which are huge Stars over there who reached out to me about being on their upcoming projects. After all the technicalities have been taking care of I will be able to tell you more. So its expansion time! One Love."

with the artist set to retire from Gabel 1n 2020 according to what was reported I believe by the artist himself! does that mean he will go the solo route ?
with all these collabos under his belts, I have a gut feeling this is in the artist near future.
