________________________________________________________
ZIN was once again apparently on stage this past weekend in NYC as they performed at a festival. ZIN is a legendary band who made a SPECIAL SELECT DATES TOUR comeback a couple of years ago as they performed at a couple of events to bring lots of memories and fun to the fans.
ZIN is a HIT FACTORY that had "retired" a few years back from the HMI scene due to ALAN CAVE deciding to go the solo route, as well as other members having other priorities. The funny thing is little by little, more and more, we are starting to see ZIN appear in different shows; so much so that it no longer has that SPECIAL APPEAL that it had the first time around that they came back. Don't get me wrong, ZIN IS STILL ZIN; but if you keep popping up doing more shows...PA PARET PWENT TET OU....PARET TOUT KOW!
If you want to make a proper comeback instead of just grabbing cash $$$$ for trips down memory lane every once in a while....WORK ON A NEW STUDIO CD TO GIVE TO THE FANS......OR RELEASE A 5 SONG E.P online so that you also have new material/repertoire for the NEW FANS, as well as your old fans to savor. As a longtime fan of the group's music and all that they have done in the business for many years....DON'T DRAG THE BAND DOWN TO THE DOWN MEMORY LANE LEVEL to the point of over-exhausting it.
ZIN...and ESPECIALLY ALAN CAVE....MET GRANMOUN SOU NOU.....Like one of your songs says...go ALL THE WAY instead of doing HIT AND RUN "SMASH & GRAB THE CASH GIGS" that will further put a hit on the group's legacy. GO IN THE STUDIO work on 4/5 songs to have a new repertoire....& THEN...SI NAP TOUNIN AK JAZ LA FULL TIME.....DO IT!!!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE MUCH MORE THAN A DOWN MEMORY LANE BAND. STEP UP YOUR GAME!

I agree... I think Zin can coexist very will with the top bands in the Hmi... When you I just feel Alan needs to get in shape to look more appealing for the younger females... Also get a stylist... _________________ #MajorLeegue |

I missed DP Express with Larose, Grande Nanan. I was 10 years old. Music was much much better back then.... Zin & Phantoms should come back full time _________________ I Love my Kompa. KlassDat7 |

Easier Said than Done, there is also the Shah-Shah 2.0 angle. Once your band members (Alan, Nia, Potentially Princesse in FL, Alex in Haiti, so and so in PA, GA) are no longer in NY, the operating cost of getting the band together skyrocketed. Frustration in terms of who is eating up too much of the size of the contract (if Alan or Alex was in NY, I would have gotten $200 more after this party) is bound to happen shortly.
Zin can ride Alan's solo repertoire and its old hits , give Nia a shot at playing one of her own music and stay in the "Paret Pwent Tet" mode. This slogan almost synonym of "Pa guin route pa bwa" defines us as Haitian (we are not risk takers, we are a "peuple de marronage", always pulling tricks to make things work until no longer worth it or no longer working).
PS: After so many years in FL (weather, appealing real estate, easy going life), in Haiti (weather, easy money, fi a gogo which fit AA's bad boys, seller of pipe (pun intended) and pipe dreams so well..lol, who in their late 40's, early 50's want to settle back in NY to grind in an ever changing HMI?
Ask them how much they missed their beds after only 2 days in NY, I know I do. _________________ My future's so bright I've got to wear shades |
