A couple of industry people talking to me, who want to remain anonymous, have told me that if I think that the bands/artists that are "raging war" on Atlanta promoter Carlito; would be as ACTIVE/FORCEFUL, and CONCERNED "publicly" if it was ONE OF THEIR OWN "close" PROMOTERS who did a similar act towards Alan or another popular artist.
*ANONYMOUS MUSICIAN: "If BAND "A" or BAND "B" had one of their close promoters (representatives) involved in the same situation....YO PATAP FE TOUT BRUIT SA YAP FE LA. MWEN GARANTIW SA Patrick."
*ANONYMOUS PROMOTER: : "Let's wait and see 4 to 6 months from now if any of those bands show the same SUPPORT that they are now when they are offered a contract to come and play. I know my musicians and bands in the business. SE GIGS/KONTRA KI CONCERNE YO PLUS KE LOT BAGAY. L'avenir dira le rest."

JOUDRE "Negative".
This has nothing to do with Klass. We did not get any of this from Klass.

Have they released a statement yet KM?
Or are they secretly taking the high road and hope that this thing disappear and continue business with Carlito like nothing happen?

Both guys made sense, but I don't think it is a Klass or Tvice, or Disip taking the high road while Carimi, Newlook, and Zenglen, Kreyola and more putting the kibosh on Carlito. I think it is genuine discomfort from all sides because of Alan's notoriety in the HMI. Alan is as inoffensive as "Zandolit" in the HMI and he is Mr positivity when any of them needs some "grab/help me today" time. Yes he was going on overdrive in the Remy Martin, Yes He was upset that he was not getting the treatment of a megastar, yes he wanted to make sure he is paid fully this time while Carlito was drinking and taunting him as: "These 500 people...Sé Sel mwen ka fè'l", but when Alan Cavé asked you to apologize after the initial incident...You jump on this golden opportunity.. PERIOD.. and things would have been less ugly.
I would go the other way: any "no-name musician", would not get this consensus as all the bands know that 95% of the gigs in ATL do not add a penny in the pocket of the promoter...the only gain is name recognition.
Even this 469 paid tickets party last Saturday would have been a break-even or $500 profit at best after paying for plane tickets, hotel, sound, ads, security and helpers, van rental, place/location...So it is a Band first business. It is what it is: the sad story of the HMI. It is not a 2 way-business in the small market. _________________ My future's so bright I've got to wear shades |
