that insider have everything twisted. There is a whole lot of Compas bands in the antilles that give shout out to Haiti. Look at ZIC BAND's new album called AYITI BONJOU. There are many little digital bands modeling themselves around the old top-vice.

Zouk-love is for the home, but Compas is known as CLUB music over there. it is like RnB and house Music. The fans in the antilles, sad to say, enjoy compas style that are not so diluted from the Direct style. This is one reason why the old cadance lypso/compas bands are making a great come back overthere.

As a konpa fan currently living in the caribbean, i could not disagree more.I listen to radio stations from guadeloupe everyday.I was actually in guadeloupe over the winter break for 6 days.I went to clubs where they d play lots of konpa and zouk hits with shout outs to haitians or haiti. they love our music more than their own.M gentan renmen danse ti zouk love mwen.Se pa menm 2 kawo non! se kreziglou! to complete the list of songs written by french caribbean artist for our beloved land, allow me to mention"gonaives" which i think was the best song in honor of the victims of the tragic natural disaster that affected that city a few years ago. I don't know what haitian band this insider is talking about. It's normal for bands to come up with one or 2 songs on an album with a different flavor or appeal.Nu vice's "Konpa Dekale" is at this moment on the top 10 list.

On another front, the same gentleman was telling me that some Haitian bands are going crazy trying to score a hit song in the Antilles market (Guadeloupe/Martinique) BY PLAYING ZOUK...Not in fact realizing that the people down there in that market are actaually appreciating our own music COMPAS MUCH MORE RIGHT NOW than ZOUK.

i agree 100% best example is tvice and carimi, why do you guys think tvice have a zouk song with a zouk artist on their cd and carimi well just listen to that damn album.

yes, it is some sort of " ass kissing". Taht gentleman in question, makes sense. I have never heard a zouk band mentionned haiti in their albums although they have a a lot of haitian fans and make money with haitians. However, haitian bands tend to say nou pral guadeloupe, martinique ect. I think kompas is bigger than the antilles and zouk. So, i do not see why haitians have to do that. Zouk is a " pay" compared to kompas. Those antilleans will always love kompas because zouk la poko ka mache ak konpa a.
On the other hand, those haitian bands may think that the antilleans are brothers while in fact those antilleans do not see that way. I think those haitians are just showing a sign of brotherhood instead of kissing ass. But, neg antilles sa yo gin dwa pa wel konsa

I have np problem with. It's business so they buy more call them out more until your own people support you as least 1/4 of how much they support Haitian music Exclamation

Most of us do not really apreciate our artists. Nou toujou pre pou nou pale yo mal so if they get the love somewhere else HEY! Sispan complain, aprann aprecie pito. G5 ou finn pale brother Exclamation
