With KOMPA IN VEGAS around the corner, we got in touch with the organizers to get the lowdown on a few things. Check out our mini interview below.

*1) KOMPA MAGAZINE: We are getting down to the stretch run for KOMPA IN VEGAS 2. What can you tell us so far in terms of the results you've gotten in terms of the ticket sales so far?
KIV: Good morning Patrick and thanks for the opportunity… We are indeed 20 days away to be exact from the most anticipated show of the summer! We are thankful for the positive responses so far. We only have a few packages left, and tickets are now on sale for those that booked hotels elsewhere that weekend.

*2) Tell us about each individual party you have on the menu, and what exactly do they bring individually to the entire concept?

KIV: As you can see this year we took a huge risk, compared to last year, by adding bands to the line up and one of the main reasons is that we wanted to keep our promise to the fans. Before I go any further let me give you a quick example, last year the fans wanted Kreyol La in Vegas, and this year despite the excessive cost to bring them from Haiti to Vegas we kept our word and they will be there. The lineup is very unique this year, from Thursday to Sunday the fans will get something different. KIV festivities kick off with "Zouk on the Strip Thursday", to the "Black Tie Affair" Friday, the "Heaven On Earth All White Affair" on Saturday and our official KIV send off "Celebrity Pool Party" on Sunday. *3) What were the numbers you did last year in terms of tickets sold; and what would you target as a realistic number this time around?
KIV: Per our business policy we do not discuss numbers, but what I can tell you is that we did very good for the first year, and we are expecting to double the numbers this year. What we have learned from the feedback is that the fans are not only excited to party with the HMI in Vegas, but that they are excited to return to Vegas as well. After all there’s no other place like Vegas!

*4) KOMPA MAGAZINE: Is KOMPA IN VEGAS here to stay; or is this something you are trying out for a couple of years to see where it leads you?
KIV: Lol, we are not in the business of trying to see if things will work, our goal is to be here for the long run; therefore, as long the Lord continues to protect us, guide us, and the fans continue to want something different then we are here to stay. We can all agree Konpa in Vegas is by far one of the most unique events in the Haitian Music Industry up to date.

*5) KOMPA MAGAZINE: What do you see in the future for KOMPA IN VEGAS in terms of EXPANSION?
KIV: "It is impossible to foresee the future, but we are working diligenty towards expanding our wings, and trust me you will be the first to know about our plans for next year.
