Not a strong year for 2012.

But in terms of IMPACT, it has to GABEL or J-BEATZ.

Mind you, I never listened to EITHER of these CDs MORE THAN once, but the effect these two CDs had to the respective groups WERE HUGE.

Gabel really had a strong year as a result of this CD.

J-Beatz dominated RADIO and ZOUK NIGHTS because of this CD. "Famn Pam" and It's Getting Late" were buzz worthy.

In terms of popularity and impact J-Beatz "Our Own World" cd should win going away

But since its not really Konpa Direct or even Konpa Buble gum...but Konpa Fusion AND since he really was just establishing a band he will get major points deducted from the judges (who are usuallly more Pro-Konpa Direct)

Therefore GABEL "Gon Jan Pou Ye" should win this...

Really good album...put Gabel out of the ti djazz category.

I can understand "Song of the Year' with Gad On Rèv, but not album of the year.
My vote goes to Gabel not because I think the album was phenomenal, but because the album established them as a contender in the HMI. They were booked consistently and in the eyes of many, they went from being a ti djazz to a not-so-ti-djazz.
