KOMPA MAGAZINE had the opportunity to be in the studio watching RICHIE (Superstar Maker) & PIPO (Profet La) working on the upcoming KLASS debut studio CD. During that session, they worked on 2 songs...one by Richie, and another one brought to the CD by PIPO. I have to tell you that the chemistry between the two in the studio is awesome. Also as I watched the two specialists at work, you sensed the willingness of both to do the best job possible on the CD. At times RICHIE would ask for PIPO to re-do some takes until he got what he was looking for, and also at times, even when Richie seemed ok with what Pipo had done, PIPO would himself ask that a part be done over, feeling himself that he could do better on the next take.
The song that they worked on while I was there (I did not stick around for the second as time was running fast) is sort of like a national anthem/Patriotic type of song with some nice grooves/musical chops in there. POZO BAY YON LOT COULEU NAN MIZIK SA. (I don't want to reveal the name). To watch those two at work and to see how long it actually takes to complete 1 song after so many takes, it gives you more appreciation for all the hard work that all the musicians do when they hit the music lab.
Watching PIPO do all types of exercises with his Jaw and voice before he gets in the vocal booth; or PIPO doing some break dancing in the studio to show us (Richie, Luco Desir, and I) that he still has those skills; or watching RICHIE just sitting on the recording/mixing board adjusting some last minute lyrics in order to make it fit properly before starting the session, or with him directing the studio engineer on everything that he wants him to do until he gets what he wants...is simply great to watch. It is a hard process, which based on that one song I heard (Completed before my departure), will bring some great stuff out of that studio.
KLASS's new era has begun with RICHIE and PIPO (Profet La) leading the way....so without further ado, please enjoy these visual snaps that we took while we were chilling in the studio while they were recording.
