We heard rumors about DR. VASTEY and FIDEL having "issues" from a couple of sources, with one of them telling us that the DOC had pressed the "PAUSE" button on the group...so we went straight to the man to get his take. This is what he told us.

DR. VASTEY: " NO WORDS can describe how I feel about the group right now because I am so disappointed in terms of the DISCIPLINE of the group. They need to remember that opportunity only knocks ONCE. You take for example a Montreal party with Gabel that DABENZ was invited to as a guest artist. The transportation and Hotel was all paid for and all he had to do was show up, which would have been a great promotion opportunity for FIDEL. They had over 1000 people at the event...and at the last minute DABENZ refused to go because he said he wanted to go with the entire group. Can you believe that? Other instances with Haiti and others that have basically left me speechless.

To tell you the truth, I am just giving more priority and spending more time with my family, as well as with another business that I just opened with Destin Nicolas (Fidel close associate and Vastey good friend); but I have not closed the door totally on Fidel, but they need to understand that opportunity only knocks once...especially for an aging musician or musicians. DISCIPLINE IS KEY."

This is the problem with bands like Fidel, Harmonik etc.. when they find a money man like Dr Vastey, Rodney, they become lazy and leave all the work to up to the finance guy until the latter is tired and give up. In the case of Fidel I blamed dr. Vastey for investing in such garbage band which WON'T go anywhere. Their album was BELOW average and he puts so much money behind it; bad investment if you ask me.
Also the HMI does not have that much investors who REALLY know what they are doing, they never learn one note of music in their entire life.
For God sake, what a waste of people time to read about Dr. Vastey and Fidel.

Wow...I wish i could say that i'm surprised but i'm not....Fidel is definitely losing points..smh. i saw them play in NJ at Dclub and they were okay. They could have done better but now to potentially lose your investor? that is def unprofessional and inconsiderate...These musicians need a wake up call...Some think that people owe them something and that is not the case, you have to work hard and earn it.

I feel bad that Dr. Vastey took so much heat for the band...Now you know to choose your battles wisely..
