NU LOOK and ZENGLEN have been singled out by HMI promoter BOOGIEMAN as an example of what's wrong with the HMI and musicians in general....in terms of APPRECIATION and HOW EASILY MUSICIANS FORGET about sacrifices made on their behalf LEU BAGAY YO PAT BON.
BOOGIE: "After RICHARD URBAIN dropped NU LOOK, I started doing bals with them. I lost a lot of money with them at the beginning. I remember a bal in Spring Valley when they were just starting out...PAT MINM GIN 40 MOUN EN DEDAN AN. There was a NU LOOK/ZIN at CLUB "A" as well, and even if you counted the musicians from NU Look and Zin...SI TE GIN 100 MOUN NAN CLUB LA...SE CHANS. I vividly remember the promoter that Nu Look deals with in New York telling me after that party "DON'T PAY THESE NIGGAS", because he was my partner for that party. I am the one who brought him into the HMI and I told him that things are not done that way because I still have to pay the band regardless if the party was not good. They don't appreciate what you do for them."
BOOGIE continues "ZENGLEN is more on the HYPOCRITE side that I have an issue with them. That is why I chose MYSELF to back off from Zenglen a bit. All in all, most musicians in the HMI once they start making money, they forget about how things used to be in the past when things were not good. They forget about the sacrifices that were being made for them by the promoter."
