Kenny,
I am glad that you finally get your big break. It saddens me to see a group like 509 goes down the drain. That's life! Now that you are the frontman of Zenglen, the followings are some advice that I wanna give you in order to making you successful.
1. Learn all your songs inside and out. That will make you more confident on stage.
2. Set some near term goals for yourself and the group as far as where you want to be in the next 6 monts and by the end of 2007.
3. If you do not speak French, learn it. That will help you a great deal with your diction. A lead singer is the face of a group. You are the face of Zenglen now. All the musicians are great. I do not think that you are representing them the right way at this time. Please use these singers as your models: Shoubou, Cubano, Ti-Manno, Isnard Douby, Gazman, Arly, et j'en passe. All those singers have one thing in common, they have great DICTION. Always remember that Pochon/Djakout is an exception to lead singing. He should have never been in front of a Jazz. Try not be known as the second Pouchon in the HMI. You don't wanna be tagged as a TI CHANTEUR.
4. Be yourself. Have your own style.
5. Be a leader, not a follower.
6. Never let your guard down. Always be in a competitive spirit.
7. Always be at your best whether you are singing for 10 or 10,000 people. Be consistent.
8. Don't bring your personal baggage on stage. Always be a happy singer on stage.
9. Impose yourself as the lead singer of Zenglen.
10. Be a Team Player.
11. Always strive to be the best. Always seek self improvement.
12. Take some singing lesson. It won't hurt. It will just make you better. _________________ "The secret of life is not to do what one likes, but to try to like what one has to do." - DINAH MULOCH CRAIK |

Val,
What a list, I salute you my friend. I read the whole thing and I could not find any additional information for my brother Kenny.
I just have not been able to muster the courage to Congratulate him on getting the Lead singer position in such a great band as Zenglen. I'm still mourning 509's Loss.
Good Advices Val, Well done
Happy Holidays to you.
Peace _________________

my advice:
don't forget that you are entering a band that has a history of having problems with its lead singers.
Mwen pa kwe ke se te tout lead singer sa yo ki te gen problem. Get some things on paper and fast. |
