No disrespect to anyone, here's my take in a nutshell,

If the artist is old and not as active in the music scene, it will not matter much. For the young and eager, it will be a career suicide. We are not as tolerant as we claim to be. We will point finger, ridicule on stage and off-stage every time this individual is around. Beside what will it serve, to know someone sexual preference. I for one could care less.
