DJAKOUT's TI REGI told me that the 42 Gigs that they have booked for Haiti this Summer, IS THE MOST THEY'VE EVER PLAYED during the Summer at any time, and that includes even at the height of their popularity around "LA FAMILIA" time.
TI REGI: "The demand for DJAKOUT in Haiti has been so strong, we had to accommodate the demand. We actually started the tour earlier than usual. Most times we would be starting like all the other bands around the end of July, but the demand was simply too strong for us to ignore."

It may even end up being more, Ernst.  New demands for dates have been sent to my email. It truly is amazing. 
I give all of our Haitian bands a lot of respect for pulling such tours off. It is not an easy task to entertain day in and out. Especially in a country like Haiti where you're driving on unpaved roads for hours on end before you arrive at your destination. Seeing that crowd reaction and the reception is well worth it though. |
