In PART 4 of this special series, ROBERTO MARTINO of T-VICE talks "ONE BY ONE" about all the songs on T-VICE's latest cd "Welcome to Haiti".

TODAY'S SONG is "TELL ME WHY?".

ROBERTO MARTINO: "This song is the first one that I started to work on for the album. I Used to tell the guys that i have something i think that can score big but never made them listen to it until we started working on the album.

One day me, oli and rey sat in the studio and i made them listen to the melodies that i had; but i was not done with the lyrics. Oli and i spent a good while working on the lyrics as much as we could. After making Rey hear what we had we started to work on the bridge, keyboard solos etc.
I wanted Arly's touch on it since the song resembles his style; and after we had worked on Nu Look's ABO, Arly always wanted to return the favor.

One day me, rey and oli drove to Arly's house/Studio. Arly was very welcoming, we made him hear what we had already worked on and he fell in love with the song. We worked on the Lyrics together looking for little words that would be catchy and different and also Arly came with the Last part of the song that says "Malgre sam sakrifye woo, Dlo nan jem pa janm seche wooo", which i think was the missing piece to the puzzle. We stayed till the morning hours that day talking about everything and i will never forget how Arly opened up and put his heart into trying to make the song as best as possible.

After having the song completed we Called Felder "POTO MITAN" to deliver on the bass, and boy did he deliver! Sonson played the drums and my dad made put his touch at the intro with his typical Legend style. When ti Harold came for the Background vocals he as well layed down a Piano track which lifted the melody at the beginning. Harold is just amazing point blank!

"Tell me why" is on major rotation in the provinces of Haiti. Fond Parisiens kept on asking "BIS BIS" after we performed it there last month so did Marchand Dessalines. This song is one of the songs on the album that has the potential of becoming a major hit for the band, mark my words!"

I applaud their ability to work with several members of the HMI. That is what made me appreciate this last CD. We often disregard the positives in life and with T-vice this time around, their CD totally supported the "idea" of "L'union fait la force" KUDOS gents!!!!
