We asked DISIP assistant manager TI BLANC if he could talk to us about the name DISIP and why it's causing controversy among certain people. This is what he told us.
TI BLANC "Gazzman came with 2 names on the table. They were SHOWTIME and DISIP. I personally voted for DISIP like a lot of other people in our camp that we asked, because I felt the name was more explicit. It had more impact in terms of what we wanted to accomplish. DISIP is NOT just a band, it is a movement."
TI BLANC continues "Gazzman does NOT proclaim that he is God or anything of the sort in any of the songs. Gazzman is a DISCIPLE just like everybody. If you notice we do incorporate gospel songs into our music as a sign of respect for the name."

I never liked the name Disip, even less when there is the “De Gazzman Couleur” added after it, but what can I say? What is done is done and the time for me to argue about it has passed.
As for the movement comment, I think that Gazzman & Co might still be figuring out what to do, how to break barriers, and taking the industry to the next level; the picture is still fuzzy and the fans have yet to understand what direction the band wants to take on the subject of the movement or even what the latter is.
Maybe Couleur could explain to us what the Disip movement brings about. |

It is time to move from this black desert Moses bit. It looks dumb and sincerely if DISIP is a movement naming then make it sound like movement instead of some church going thing.
