FIRST ANNUAL KOMPA FESTIVAL IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, MARCH 3RD 2007
Will the 1rst Annual KOMPA FESTIVAL on march 3rd 2007 in Santo Domingo be a success?
Will people in the US, CANADA, EUROPE will be interested on going to SANTO DOMINGO for this event? Why?
What are your expectations?

I'm debatting whether I should to Champs de Mars ou Santo Domingo.
Zafe kidnaping sa bay fanmi'm anpil pwoblem.
Maybe I will go to D.R. instead. I am thinking hard about it.
What about the Miami carnival?
I think both fall about the same time.
Can you verify that?

Given the political climate in the DR regarding Haitians. The last place I want to be is in the DR.
I guest after the festival you can go to batey and hangout eating sugar cane with a Dominican plantation security guard pointing a gun in my face.
Sounds like a great time.   |

H1,
You'd be going there as an english speaking haitian tourist with US dollars to spend. I don't think you'd get that treatment.

There is a difference, oh yeah I am light skinned too so I will be all right.
The only time they want us Haitians coming is when we got some US dollars to spend. Not me man, when it comes to that issue I got a conscious. The reality is the difference between me and that guy in the batey with a Dominican pointing that gun at him, is the fact my parents came here and not there. That is not much.
I ain't that special really. |
