KOMPA MAGAZINE caught up with ELIE LAPOINTE to ask him about the rumors of his return to DJAKOUT MIZIK. Read more below
1) KOMPA MAGAZINE: There are rumors that you are set to return to Djakout. What is the REAL DEAL? Have you been approached by Djakout to return?
Elie: Yeah of course. Ever since the break up i still was around to help them on several occasions. Recently i was in the studio with them. Ou konen mwen toujou fè tout scratch vokal yo avan dread la vin mete koulè pal nan mizik yo, so mwen te still ede yo nan sans sa. That is when I was approached for the second time and mwen di neg yo, "Hey why not give it a shot", d'autant plus que mwen aprann ke pouchon deja aprouve chwam nan, but tout sa map diw la pat its in theory in the sense ke mwen pa against lide tounen an but there's conditions. So mwen pale ak neg yo ...
2) KM: So are you saying IT IS OFFICIAL, You have accepted to go back to the group? How do you explain MAMANE's comments to Kompa Magazine on Monday when he told us that HE WANTS YOU TO BE THE CHOICE in terms of joining the band, but has yet to be decided?
ELIE: Well lets put it this way Pat...I got everybody's impression in the band even some people from the ban dèyè. They all expressed mamane's feeling vividly but u know conditions are keys to a good deal .
3) KM: So you would be joining strictly as a SINGER next to Pouchon (Dread La), no guitars, just the vocals?
Elie: Djakout se on djaz mwen aprann anpil de li e se on djaz mwen renmen, but u gotta understand that i'm a responsible guy that cares very much for his reputation . After the Djakout ordeal people really started to talk a lot of BS about me and i dont blame them but se on kesyon de gestion ak definition.
Si efektivman djaz la vle m travay ak yo fo non selman yo rapid nan desizyon yo,cuz i can not sit around while the band is taking his sweet time and fo yo aksepte kondisyonm yo. Mwen pa konnen nan ki pozisyon entraineur MAMANE ap metem jwe sou teren an non Pat, but ou konnen mwen ka jwe atakan menm jan mka jwe mitan teren, so if that becomes reality we'll see ... sorry pou analogy soccer a wi ..im on World cup mode !!! LOL
