What is the deal with "HIT ALBUMs" these days?
I remember back in the days bands/atists used to produce albums that were made if "HITS". Let me give some examples :
Zenglen--------------Fidel-1989
Tabou----------------mario mario-1988
new york city
aux antilles
Zin--------------------nan nan nan
Ti manno-------------David
Freres Dejean--------leon
Skandal---------------Ti boy
Just to name a few! One could have picked any track off of these "HIT ALBUMS" and have an enjoyable time. Back then it was about "talent" and nothing but "talent". It's been decades since the absence of "HIT ALBUMS" becomes so popular. Most bands and artists aim only for one HIT, if lucky! Im trying to pinpoint some of the reasons why nowadays a music lover can not enjoy every single track of an album! Why do we have to skip to other better tracks? Does the media have their contribution in this issue? Are artists running out of good inspirations? Do we have less talented artists these days?
What seems to be the problem?
Bands/artists only push one or two songs when it comes to promoting an album! They're happy with just that perhaps for the following reasons:
-They can only afford one video
-promoting 12 tracks of an album would only raise their marketing/promotion expenses sky high
-music is treated more as a business (kob manjem) than art/talent
It is sooooo sad to see how low our industry gets when it comes to good products. I think we reach rock bottom in the HIT department.
Your opinion and thoughts will be very well appreciated. |

The last HIT album we had was T-Vice's Kite'm Viv...All the songs were good but i feel like they fail in the video department. There should be a video for Beaute Dangereuse at least. Other than that this band aslo have Men Medikamen which was a great HIT album along with Banm T-Vice Mwen...They had good marketing and nice videos.
NU Look and NIckenson Prud'homme are also included have most recent HIT Albums the HMI had along with Carimi's Bang Bang....I don't know what the problem is these days...i can't say it's a lack of talent cause our current bands have an history of putting at least one HIT album in their carreer. Maybe it's lack of inspiration or the fans looking for less depth in their music.... _________________ YA RAYI'W TANDE TI GASON(RICKY) |

It is true that we do not have hit albums like we used to back in the days; the latest hit albums I would say belong to CaRiMi (Bang Bang), Djakout (Manigueta) and Ritchie (Happy 50). That being said I don't think any band can match Skah-Sha in terms of hit albums. _________________ If there is one thing we know how to do it is MUSIC.

THE DIFERENCE BETWEEN NOW AND THEN WAS ANYTHING SEEMS TO BE HITS BACK THEN.
NOW THE FANS EXPECT MORE, WHAT WAS HITS BACK THEN MAY HAVE NOT BEEN HITS TODAY KUZ THE PUBLIC IS MORE EXPECTANT AND EXIGIBLE, BACK THEN PEOPLE WERE LOOKING FOR A SONG WITH NICE MELODY AND LIRICS, NOW A DAYS PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING INCLUDING INSTRUMENTS, LONTAN MOUN YO PAT CARE DE INSTRUMENT THAT MUCH IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE LIRICS AND THE MELODIES THATS WHY BACK THEN INSTRUMENTS WERE VERY LIGHT, NOW A DAYS INSTRUMENTS ARE HEAVIER IN THE SONGS SO MY POINT IS THINGS HAVE CHANGE SO DID MUSIC ITS HARDER NOW TO MAKE HITS KUZ THE PUBLIC EXPECT PERFECTION. |
