Here is the explanation from BRUTUS as to why ZENGLEN went and played in Martinique over the weekend.

*The concert was turned into some sort of benefit concert to collect money for the earthquake victims.

*Brutus says that the ZENGLEN concert was much in the same way that BELO did his concert this past weekend as well in Guadeloupe.

*RED CROSS (La Croix Rouge Francaise was there according to Brutus)...was there and received a CHECK according to Brutus.

why did he have to bring up Belo?? I thought this was regarding Zenglen

Additionally he states that a check was received by Red Cross, does that mean that Zenglen wasn't compensated for the gig as well??

Daphnee, he brought up BeLo because he too was in the Antilles and he too ended up performing a fundraiser which was initially his concert.

Kassav is planning a benefit concert and it is considered a bel jes.

Why is Zenglen being singled out for performing a benefit concert? They turned 2 gigs into fundraisers and we want to judge instead of appreciate.

Again folks, this is not the time to cast stones. It is not the time for division and/or singling folks out. It is not out of the ordinary to hear artists performing to raise money. It is a way to use celebrity power to raise money and awareness for a common cause. It is not celebrating anything but getting a message of unity across and keeping folks' spirits high.

I applaud ALL bands who are using their music to raise money and not for their own personal gain. Hats off to all putting together these concerts to raise money for our beloved Haiti. Haiti needs all the money and donations that she can get right now. Music is a lovely way to do it.
