I was talking to a very well informed musician in the business, when the conversation shifted to a congas player in a very popular band, who is doing double duty with ANOTHER BAND....HIS OWN BAND.
The musician told me that for the life of him, he could not understand why if the congas player is already part of a very popular band in the HMI, why he feels the need to be actively pushing HIS OWN BAND ON THE SIDE, with him acting as THE MANAGER as well on top of that.
The musician was wondering if "LI PAP BAT KO'L TWOP with that move, and what happens if both bands are booked on the same day, which gig will the manager/musician choose to go with, THE POPULAR BAND that he already plays with, or HIS OWN BAND in which he acts as the manager?
It was brought up if the congas player was not setting himself up for the group to have a good reason to drop him and replace him with someone who already takes his place when the group travels overseas.

| Its funny how musicians think they can just create a band just like that.. Just because Im "so and so" from this band.. I can create a band and I will be the next big thing. I see quite a few members that left to create a name for themselves and they've been at standstill.. can't take off for nothing. |
