Hello KM friends? I wanted to know if any of you have been to Costa Rica and if you can tell me anything about your experience there.

Any information would be appreciated.

Fanm, I know you are a traveler like I am but I have not done Costa Rica---have you?

Fanm,

Yes I will be heading to Costa Rica. I appreciate nature very much and always find myself on adventure trips and when I travel I explore. Waterfalls are my absolute weakness and I will climb Mount Everest just to bask in the natural wonders of this God given beauty. Interestingly enough you mention Limon and that reminded me of the Dominican Republic where they have the El Limon falls--ABSOLUTELY BREATH-TAKING and well worth the trip!

So if you can remember anything about your explorations in Costa Rica I would greatly appreciate it. I will be heading to the North Pacific area and from what I understand that is where all the naturistic action is!

By the way don't know if you've already made plans this year but if you haven't I'd recommend Ecuador which I visited many times and have just been amazed by the diversity of its climates--if you have not done so you should definitely take a trip there and when you are in the planning stages let me know and I'll volunteer to be your tour guide (I LOVE ECUADOR--it is a beautiful country!!!!) In a few years when my daughter is older I want to go to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. Ecuador is very big so you need to plan your trip to really enjoy the country and talk about there is something for ABSOUTELY ANYONE--want to just party hardy? want to relish the jungle? want to experience waterfalls? want to take in the beautiful ocean? want to see wild monkeys (mono) unfortunately the indigenous are not too conscious of these animals and kill them when they see them....landscape is gorgeous. I fell in love with that country and I'm sure you will too. The only drawback I must tell you the high altitude if you decide to go to Quito which is one of the most popular destinations due to its proximity to everything--remember Quito among other South American countries has the axis where the middle of the world (Mitad Del Mundo) is situated and so you may experience altitude sickness--nothing a pill cannot cure--some pharmacies are open 24/7. I know you didn't ask me but I wanted to tell you anyway Laughing

Please share your views and hot spots on Costa Rica as I will be taking my little munchkin along! Is it worth it to rent a car? Because I absolutely will not to do the tourist/tour thing in any country I travel to. Did you come accross any organizations dealing with "disfortunate" children? If yes, please share!

Thanks in advance Fanm!

Chachou,
Quelle coïncidence que tu parles de Costa Rica, parce que je pars pour San Jose le premier week-end du mois de Mai… I will be there from the 5th to the 13th… I am participating in one the International Business Field Experience @ the University… Bien que li pap yon family vacation Confused Je suis tres curieuse d'apprendre, de m'informer sur l’ecotourisme/ beau paysage de Costa- Rica… Very Happy

During our week-long trip, we will be visiting San Jose, Arenal Volcano, Café Britt plantation, the U.S Embassy, des centres de production d'artisanat, etc… D’apres l’itineraire, on aura diverses activités de plein air comme l'équitation, ainsi que les excursions dans les parcs nationaux… Very Happy

@ Fanm,

That is a conincidence indeed! I boiled down my choices for this year to either Margarita Islands or Costa Rica and I chose Costa Rica! I will be going to Guanacaste--flying into Liberia. I intend to do everything while over! I usually plan my week (actually make a calendar for the family's activities!) Will you be going to the Capital City of San Jose or the province? If the province, you and I will be going to the same general area. If the province you will HAVE to share your experience with me and recommend some spots--but please not the touristy thing I'm an off trail kind of traveller depuis mouin pa rencontre ak couleuve I'm good to go! Hope you are going to the province town of San Jose as you will be able to share for your experiences my benefit! I'm still waiting on Fanm Rolling Eyes

By the way Fanm and when you get back Karamel can you tell me how feasible it is to travel around the country. I know for instance when I went to Antigua one could literally drive around the entire island in one day!

Karamel you have to tell me how the roads are and if it's worth renting a car--which I will most likely do anyway but I need to know whether to rent a jeep or a car!

Thanks Ladies!

Bon Famn, since you are the travel expert of the board, I need to ask you some info about Brazil.

There's a law school study abroad program in the City of Fortaleza that I am comtemplating going to. It runs runs from July 1st to August 2nd.
I want to know if you've ever been to that city in your travels to Brazil and any info as to what sites to to see and what not to do.

As classes will run from monday to friday, The weekend will be what I would have at my disposal as for as time to explore.
Now since I do have to earn some credits while over there, Just How bad is the distraction?
One last thing, since I've been so negligent on becoming a citizen and shelling out $390 bucks for the application, Do I need a visa since I still hold a Haitian passport?

Ps: Chachou, I know you're still trying to get all your info on Costa Rica, Forgive for picking Famn's brain a little bit....She'll get back to you.

Much love
Raymi.

I will be staying in the Guanacaste area--North Pacific and yes we will stay at an all inclusive however, I don't trust stranger with my child and therefore will be doing everything with her Shocked Yes there are limitations but I don't feel like leaving her behind Sad I don't know but last year I had a great experience with her in the DR I did everything--The essential thing is that I can get cheap but caring tou guides when I get to the various destinations. I don't know I just couldn't leave her for that long Laughing at least not now. Maybe what I can do is hire a baby sitter and take her everywhere with me while I'm over there? Is that possible?

YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY VISIT ECUADOR!

I will take you up on that offer regarding Brazil, when I decide to go to Brazil, I considered Brazil this year too but didn't feel like learning any language this year--m'deja gin yon l'ecole kap bat mouin Very Happy Hubby wanted to go there--I wonder why Rolling Eyes --maybe next year.

Yes, I do Habla espanol un poco mas de ti! Pero, a little rusty but I can hold my own. I actually learned spanish in Ecuador--I spent three months learning spanish there! Did I tell you - I LOVE ECUADOR Laughing

Raymi get your own thread Evil or Very Mad JUST KIDDING! Very Happy
