HipChick,

What really is in poor taste is for you to assume that I was accusing people of being insensitive to THE CAUSE. I don't think I ever said that Exclamation I said and I stand by the fact that there was a lack of support for this event, (FOR WHATEVER REASON)...and I still stand by the fact that MANY people including yourself as from what you pointed out WISHED they had attended, AFTER THE FACT Idea Now, was I wrong?...or do recall even you saying you regret not being there, inspite of being tired and all Cool You are assuming and speculating that because I am not in Haiti, I have no idea of the mood or temperament of the habitants during this tragic time.

don't speculate and criticize our people without knowing the facts cause Lord knows we have enough people around the world doing it for us.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW YOUR OWN ADVICE Wink

Nounoune, this is not personal so please refrain from using words like accused, poor taste, etc as I never alluded to that. It is natural for people to regret of not attending after the fact if they learn of the event after the fact or just too late to make attending possible. The event did not have a lack of SUPPORT, it had a lack of PROMOTION> that is where the difference lies. Good day.

I know very well what promotion is since that is in my line of business and I am sure that most involve would agree that they wanted a great attendance from the PUBLIC as well as the media in order to raise as much money and awareness as possible. I will not go back and forth about this with you as we clearly have different views and motivations. My only motivation and desire as far as this topic is concerned is to applaud the efforts of those concerned and suggest that more promotion be done for such an event in the future to allow it to have the maximum impact.

I really could care less what your line of business is...it really is not relevant to this discussion..furthermore, we are talking about a fundraiser that was organized at the last minute for a tragic event that no-one saw coming,...How exactly do you promote something like this?...

Regardless of "WHAT YOU THOUGHT" could have been done otherwise, the truth is in the pics, Haiti's most renown "noisemakers" in the media were in attendance....not to mention several other influential musicians (some who incidently don't even reside in Haiti)

I could easily attribute many factors to the failure, such as it being last minute, to the people of haiti not being in a festive mood, to the state of the economy right now in Haiti, much less the saddness surrounding the tragedies that took place....all in all minimal support was given by the mass for (WHATEVER REASON'S).... If I were to take your suggestion into consideration, it would be like me saying...Hey, the organizers of this event should have spent more $$$$$$ to do massive promotions to help raise more$$$$$? Not too logical is it Idea The reality is that AFTER the fact, and especially after seeing and hearing who was in attendance everyone was like..."Mwen te do aller!" (you included)

If you didn't want to go back and forth with me in the first place, instead of stating what you perceived to be in poor taste you, could have simply asked why did I feel this way Cool
