On the radio interviews last week Gracia Delva refused to cite the name of his drummer even when Ladouceur Mejuste on Caraibes FM and Luco Desir on Vision 2000 tried hard, he kept on saying come to the show and you will see....Soon after rumors hit the streets of Haiti that it was going to be Michel Blaise...others also said that the surprise was going to be the mayor of Carrefour himself Yvon Jerome who is the former drummer of the band.

To the surprise of everyone Gracia Delva introduced to his fans and the public in general "19 years old" Clifford Chancy.

The name Chancy is not new to the HMI if we consider the brothers Loubert Chancy and Jacques (Doudou) Chancy saxophonists of Skah Shah and the brothers Albert Chancy Guitar and Adolphe(Ti Dof) Chancy Bass of Tabou Combo...
I want to wish Gracia and the young Clifford good luck...

I would like to add that in the recent years we have seen a series of new drummers in the HMI considering that bands like Carimi -T.Vice-Kreyol La-Krezy and others have recently added the drums in their lineup....However the only one that really make a name for himself is Roselvelt of Krezi for his outstanding work in the last album especially as a singer. The others are just there doing as they are told and not stand out like a Tico Pasket - Mario de Volcy -Herman Nau -Touco Bouzi -Arserne Appolon-Almando Keslin-Patrick Appolon-Smith Jean Baptiste- and recently we only had Richy and Shedly who really show that they have more skills/talents than just kale cymbals....and talk trash.
I would not call the recent drummers stars...."nan pami diri ti roch goute grès" that's all I see these days...hopefully this 19 years old will be able to show that he can do better than just making noise and kale cymbals....remember I'm talking about SKILLS/TALENTS and the ability to write new/good songs...

Thanks for the info Staff. Time will tell what kind of skills this young kid has... I wish him the best...

I also wanted to comment on the rest of you post. I agree that Roosvelt has showcased the most skills in the "new drummers" that we have. But I would like to point out that Stanley (of CaRiMi) proved that he can hold his own when he was with Tabou... Too bad he's not asked to play at that same level in his current band... Rolling Eyes
