Hey La Familia KM  ,
Ladies, if you have just begun dating a man for about a year, and he decided that he wanted to introduce you to his parent/parents, what would you think  What exactly would be running through your mind Would you being thinking this man is a gentleman for wanting to do this Would you think "Is this guy serious, it's too early!! WHY NOW " OR, would you be pleased These are just some thoughts that I figured you would probably be thinking. If you females would be thinking something else, feel free to let me know

personally it takes me a while before i introduce a woman to my family,because mwen pa mennen fi konsa lakay fanmi 'm konsa. le yon fi we'm introduce li to the head of the family,ou temet konprann ke mwen serious. |

My sister had made that mistake once and that is all it took for us not to introduce noone to any family members specially the granmoun . My sister was dating this guy and there was a party that was orginazied by the town my father is from, so of course we went and he came as well. He met my aunts, the next thing we know, they were asking him when was the wedding and he was invited to dinner to every single one of their house for dinner, mind you the guy wasn't haitian, he was shocked and so were we and everytime we saw them, they would always ask about him Since that day, no one I date meet any member of my family or if they do, like Daphnee said he is just a friend .

| My mom met all of my "friends"...tout moun vinn lakay mwen...this is a habit of had since I started dated (15) my mom doesn't ask question...she says "mwen pa bay peson impotans until ou dim pou m ba l impotans"...I loved her motto it worked for me and with that we have always been able to be close friends...and not too long ago I finally found out why she did that...she figured that if she didn't hover she would be able to know all my ins and outs... |

I think after dating a guy for a year... that is reasonable time for himto meet the folks...
but then again I suppose each relationship is different. It all depends on what you are in it for.
I will tell you this...
I've never dated a guy whose parents didn't know that I was his girlfriend... even the one that only lasted 7 months...
It might take me some time to present a guy to my parents... But I start getting a little edgy if I haven't been presented to his parents after a while.
But I know my current boyfriend... I was sorry immediately after my parents met him especially my mom.
She would always ask me when's the wedding... blah blah blah.

It would always be "oh.. kon byen minnja ouap pase... kounye a ouap byen viv ak jen gason nan tampa pa gen moun ki pou voye je sou ou... blah blah blah ...
my brother tells me she even drives him crazy askin him when I'm getting married.
Now that she more or less know what's going on in terms of the wedding... li kite'm en repo'm.
Hoepfully God willing I will not be going down that road again avec la madre a. |

I don't mind meeting parents....as long as i know that my girl ain't no trip Im not going to meet parents...for a girl ki gen tet cho.
parents for some reasons always like me... (if i meet them without earings that is)
I would ask the girl why would she want me to meet her parents...what's the motive?
if it's not "engagement, wedding in two weeks" ki te mele mwen....
