BACK TO THE TOPIC....DAPHNE, it's just a way to show that our industry and artists are handcuffed by our conservative society. WE WILL NEVER COME CLOSE TO OTHER MARKETS when it comes to certain issues.

Yes our society is conservative but isn't that an attribute as well...what's part of our appeal??...what distinguishes us??? Why is that a negative??...I'm all for moving forward but not by exploiting our females nor males for that matter. Let it be a combination of both talent and appeal...why is this even necessary??? _________________ "Mwen di non, AYITI PAP KRAZE!!!!" |

DAPHNEE
I am NOT saying that it's bad, but it has its drawbacks in a way. IT HAS PROS and CONS.

Understood
but I have a question for you...I know you're a full blooded male but why the dare to the females...why not the guys as well??? Why can't they do a Marky Mark type of ad???
I don't know how to post pics so:

Again..how is this beneficial to the HMI??? Will this make us more mainstream now?? _________________ "Mwen di non, AYITI PAP KRAZE!!!!"

OK.
SO THE GUY WHO'S HOLDING ON TO THE GOODIES ISN'T SOME RANDOM GUY, IT WAS HER BOYFRIEND OR HUSBAND AT THE TIME.
THAT'S FROM THE ROLLING STONE COVER AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE ALBUM janet. WHICH HAD QUITE A FEW SEXUALLY CHARGED SONGS.
SO IN ITS CONTEXT, THE PICTURE WAS APPROPRIATE.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY FEMALE ARTISTS IN THE HMI WOULD NEED TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BUT IT'S THEIR CHOICE OBVIOUSLY.
AND I'M SURE THERE ARE A FEW OF THEM OUT THERE WHO WOULD DO IT IF THEY KNEW THAT OUR SOCIETY WOULDN'T JUDGE THEM NEGATIVELY.
I DON'T EVEN THINK WE'RE THAT CONSERVATIVE OF A PEOPLE, WE JUST CARE TOO MUCH WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT US. (GENERALIZATION) _________________ vanessa |
