Didn't watch the game already. But 2 goals against Costarica is a litle bit suspect _________________ Commence par te regarder dans un miroir, avant de me juger.

Germany's defense is pretty weak. If they are looking to go to the next round with that type of defenders theni don t see them going far in the tournament , however their strength is in the midfield, they are well organized and very skillful as well. Their forwards are ok, not your typical goal scorers, but they can manage to score some goals.
Costa Rica played a good game in my opinion. They are not well organized in defense and it shows today. Costa Rica needs to go back watch the game over and over they will learn alot from it.

It was a nice game opener. (4-2)Germany
Germany kept the pressure on Costa Rica the for the whole game. They had a very good chemistry. they executed their play very well. The middlefield quad is their strong asset. I was expecting more from their fowards since Costa Rica's defense had no communications what so ever.
The German really have to work on their defense if they wish to get as far as the third round.
Costa Rica: I have seen them on better shape before. I did not expect them to beat the German but they had a really poor performance. They did not really free themselve from the pressure of the Germans, and they did not really get to play their game. Very weak defense, weak offensive strategies, but I have to give it to their fowards who did not miss to score twice on the cheap german defense.

Costa Rica played as well as they could against a power house like Germany. It is no surprise that their defense crumbled against the relentless pressure from the Germans; these 2 teams are on totally different levels soccer wise. _________________ Esquire |

This German team is weak in itself - Adding Ballack will not improve the team. The german strenght / rigor / accuracy are missing in that team. I don't see them further than the 2nd round.
if at least Costa Rica played the one touch latin game, they would have done better against this German team. I don't think that Germany will play like this against Ecuador or Poland not to mention other big names like Italy, Argentina, England, Holland, and Brazil.
Costa Rica, as said before, could do better than that. They chose to play counter attack while they would do better playing the one touch latin American style of football. Ecuador will be tougher to them than Germany was; They can at least get a point from Poland But I don't see them passing the first round. _________________ Super Combo ft. I do agree that Germany defense is suspect... Klosse played a good game as usual... |

I just watch the game. The germans didn't play a good game. Par contre, ils ont été opportunistes. In my opinion, the defence did well exept the right full back, freidrich who made to big mistake by bracking the off side line twice. It's realy a shame in that level. Klinsmann shout put another right full back, in the starting line-up for the next game. _________________ Commence par te regarder dans un miroir, avant de me juger.

This is not the long ball, suffocating defensing minded German Teams that I watched growing up.
Jergen is certainly taking this team on another direction focusing more on an attacking style. Germany really had control of the game from the get go and Costa Rica managed to score on the few opportunities that it had.
I think it's pretty much settled that Germany and Ecuador will be the 2 teams to make it out of this group. Poland is flat, and Ecuador will build on their momentum to defeat Costa Rica.
Much love

The German defense is indeed shaky. The trap defense style they were playing did not work to their advantage. They got burned on both goals. The 1st Costa Rican goal was the right call, the second was offside but the refs didn't call it. That's what happened when you're playing trap defense; calls are not always made.
Costa Rica- is a weak team. Their goalie is terrible. On a couple of occasions, he looked like unsure of what he wanted to do. On Klosse's 2nd goal, he sould've just pushed the ball outside instead of bouncing it back in the box. Being a goalie myself, the worst possible save a goalie can make is what Porras did, making a save and allowing the offensive player to have another shot at the keeper.
If Germany expects to go far in The Cup, their defense will have to step it up. Luckily for them, they're in a weak group. _________________ Bat Chyen An Tan'n Met Li
