My favorite line was... "Love pou mwen love, my name is Don Chov".
I met Chov few years ago, when my boyfriend and i went to see him, he was already sick though.
He said to my bf, "ou pa fem fe konesans ak tipitit la" my ex said " retire' kow la" then he introduced himself and kissed my hand. He was a gentleman lol. We had a great time, we didn't talked about his illness at all, they were talking about old/good times. Then he cooked for us, he made us chicken.
Everybody loved CHOV, males or females... he was fun to be around, he had a great sense of humor, he loved life. Chov has been sick for a while, being the person that he was, he was always happy, he never showed fear; he was so strong i don't know where he got that strenght.
One time he was doing really bad (2005) we didn't know if he was gonna make, everybody was crying and stuff. So the next week he was better, that's how the illness was; ups and down, and he said to us, "mpat panse'm tap la jodia non, and he said i punk'd all of you guys" Everything was a joke to him.
Right about now id love to be punk'd, i wish someone would come in and tell me he is doing better .
I miss him a lot, we all do. Now he is in a better place, he will no longer endure suffering.
Rest in peace... brother, you will always remain in my heart.
PS. Guys, whenever you feel something in your body that doesn't seem right, always go for a check up, see a doctor. With Louicito, it's all started with a very bad cramp in his stomach, it was so painful. He never did anything about it, until it was too late. People used to make fun of him saying" Yo pran chov nan tu voudras" they were joking of course. No one knew it was that serious.
I know some of you don't like the doctor's office or hospital, including me, so it's important to do so. _________________ ZENGLEN/CARIMI......ALWAYS................. |

I'm sorry, but this has been bugging me for a while. I want to make sure that I'm not left out of the loop or I have not missed any important peice of information. Every time I read about him, I can't help trying to figure out what kind of cancer he had. Am' I the only one who does not know, or noone knows. Is this the type of information that the family and close friends want to keep private. If it so, I will understand, but please fill me in if I'm missing anything...Was he on chemotherapy, radiation, stage, grade, in remission. I tried very hard not ask, but it is very difficult, at least for me, to read about mortality or/and morbidity secondary to medical condition without trying to put it together..... |

Types of Intestinal Cancer
Small intestine cancer is a rare form of cancer that occurs when cancerous cells are found in the tissues of the small intestine. There are several types of small intestine cancer, the most common of which is adenocarcinoma. Adenocarcinoma begins in the lining of the small intestine and occurs most frequently in the duodenum, the part of the small intestine nearest to the stomach. Aside from adenocarcinoma, other types of small intestine cancer are sarcoma (begins in connective or supportive tissue), carcinoid tumors, gastrointestinal stromal tumors and lymphomas (begins in the immune system cells).
Cancers of the large intestine include colon and rectal cancer. Colon cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the colon, the longest part of the large intestine. Rectal cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the rectum, the last several inches of the large intestine before the anus.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with intestinal cancer and are searching for information about your treatment options, call Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at 800-615-3055, and speak with one of our Oncology Information Specialists (OIS). We are here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also Chat Online anytime with a member of our OIS team.
Intestinal Cancer Symptoms
Although intestinal cancer is rare, it is still important to be aware of the potential signs and symptoms of the disease. Intestinal cancer symptoms are most often the result of disruptions caused by the cancer within the intestine. Intestinal cancer can make it difficult for digesting food to pass easily, and the tumor can bleed and cause black stools. Many of the symptoms associated with intestinal cancer may also be the result of other problems such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and peptic ulcers.
Potential intestinal cancer symptoms include:
Abdominal pain, cramps (i.e., after eating)
Unexplained weight loss
Weak or tired feeling
Nausea or vomiting
Bloody stool (may be bright red or black in color)
A lump in the abdomen
Jaundice
Loss of appetite
Yes he was on chemotherapy and radiation. _________________ ZENGLEN/CARIMI......ALWAYS................. |

MissKompa, let me just pretend that we both have an idea about what you posted. I will pretend you do first, and then I will follow your lead. Better yet, let me just be Haitian and take things as they are given. Sometimes, I have a bad habit of being overanalytical. There are certains questions that should never be asked in our society. One must respect the spirit of the dead and understand that living in another country is no substitute or license to step over cultural boundaries. I asked the question because I thought , rather erroneously, that there might be an interesting teaching point and application of preventive medicine in the etiology of his death. As we all know, " prevenir vaut mieux que guerrir".
As selfish as it may sound, the life as well as the death of a star is often a golden opportunity to attempt to raise awareness about medical condition. But there are higher priniciples than the mere desire to apply preventive medicine must obey. One should never underestimate the power of cultural principles.
Thanks for the answer and thanks for the teaching. At least, someone provided an answer. I will no longer ask an question or provide any comment.
May Lucito rest in peace. |
