The song "AKOUCHOU KOUCHOU" hit a nerve with many hmi listeners when Tabou Combo released it. It was written by their lead vocalist SHOUBOU, and it is actually a very interesting story behind it.
Shoubou explains that the whole thing started because of an aunt that she had that she never knew that was called EMERANS who use to love singing a lot. They told him that EMERANS was crazy and use to talk a lot. He also explains how at the time, his father was a big name in the lottery department in Port-De-Paix, therefore he used to be always on the go in order to make sure that his family was taken care of. When her aunt saw that about Shoubou's father, she used to say that famous line in the song "LA RI A SE POU PIN CHINAT" (Nickname for Shoubou's dad)
Shoubou explains how when he went back home to Port-De-Paix about 6/7 years ago, his mom was very happy because he was bringing money. (He laughs). SHOUBOU's mom started singing that line "La ri a se pou pin chinat, katie a se pou madam Edwa. MADAM EDWA being a classmate of Shoubou's aunt EMERANS. Shoubou asked his mom where she got that line, and that's when she explained it to Shoubou.
Shoubou got back to to New York and worked on the other lyrics. He came up in there about 2 brothers JESIUS who use to come over at his house in Port-De-Paix every day at 12 to get food. The part about "DOMI KOLE...DOMI KOLE" that was a "patate as in FOOD that the brothers liked to eat a lot.
