I just picked up Robert Martino's solo CD, Oye Chica.
To be fair, I only had time to listen to the first song, but that song alone is worth getting the CD. The guys are in full force. With Robert at the guitar and Freddy at vocals, this sounds like Top Vice at its best. I had to remind myself that Charlot wasn't there... Ti Boxer will be happy.
The album has a bunch of guest artists (I noticed the names of T-Vice's Olivier Duret and Reynaldo Martino, plus Ralph Conde, Felder Antoine, and others), and is produced by Ralph Conde.
Robert composed all the songs on the CD but one, which really makes me go listen to the others.
I predict a slow start, before releasing a CD so close to karnaval is not such a great idea, but it's going to get very, very big.
I hope they printed enough copies.
Great job!

So is it a prediction that Top Vice may have something good in the works?

I've been to disappointed by Top Vice in the past to make such predictions. However, this CD is a very nice surprise.

BEN I've had mine since Friday and last Saturday they were also handed out at Marabou. I've listened to all the songs and it is (to me) a VERY WELL DONE album. Of course we all know A TOI which has been previously released as a single, a remix of Scorpio's TI MOUNE YO and many other songs which are worth listening to.
A friend of mine complained that a solo project of MAESTRO should have had more acoustic compositions and that Freddy was too prevalent on the album.
En tout cas, le nou achete li et tande li na vini avec opinion pa nou.
Bonne ecoute.
