3 REASONS why MICKAEL GUIRAND fans should feel CONFIDENT & WORRIED at the same time about his upcoming band.



* 3 REASONS FOR CONFIDENCE!

1) THE VOICE & FACE: Anyone can say whatever they want about Mickael NOT composing the songs in the group's catalogue; but what NO ONE can deny or take away from him is that HE WAS THE FACE & VOICE OF CARIMI because he was their front man for 15 years. Yes the other 2 guys had hits of their own; but MICKAEL's face and voice is who you quickly identified as CARIMI...and that goes a loooooong way helping him with whatever he is doing POST-CARIMI. The majority of the HITS, as well as THE PERSON who used to make the crowd move on a nightly basis....YEAH...DON'T GET IT TWISTED...it was MICKAEL GUIRAND.

2) "MISS YOU" FACTOR: After CARIMI made it official in terms of their breakup, Mickael was the LAST ONE of the 3 main guys to surface publicly and declare his intention of continuing with this music thing. After the way he left the group...NO ONE, or maybe I should say NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE expected to hear from him so soon...or maybe EVER "musically"; but he sure surprised a lot of people...and people in the business that I speak to...for some reason...THEY WANT TO SEE HIM DO VERY WELL. That's going to work in his favor in terms of the honeymoon period with the promoters in the business....kind of like GAZZMAN and DISIP when they first came out.

3) UNDERDOG FACTOR: If there's one thing a lot of people with hearts love...it's an UNDERDOG story. Most people see MICKAEL as an UNDERDOG because he is actually diving into unchartered waters. He will be swimming in an ocean that he is NOT used to BY HIMSELF without the MUSICAL PROTECTION of RICHARD CAVÉ and CARLO VIEUX....the 2 guys who know him better musically speaking, and perhaps in other ways...more than anyone else. I can guarantee you that IN THE EYES OF MANY.....they give Richard's band a better chance of being a success than MIKE's....and for several reasons that DO make sense; but if there's one thing that seems to be driving Mickael these days...it is his flaming desire to prove the doubters wrong.

*3 REASONS TO BE WORRIED!

1) NO RICHARD & CARLO "musically": DON'T GET ME WRONG. Jean Max Valcourt and Shedly Abraham are 2 excellent proven studio producers. Having said that, if you are judging strictly on HITS....they are NOT Richard Cavé or Carlo Vieux. They will also be working for the FIRST TIME with Mickael...whereas Richard and Carlo could basically write something for Mickael IN THEIR SLEEP. CARIMI fans are going to be VERY PICKY in terms of the material that Mickael puts out...so HE NEEDS TO BE VERY CAREFUL in terms of that.

2) STABILITY FACTOR:YES he seems to be extremely motivated and all these days; having said that, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE that Mickael won't take his toys and go home again IF something is not going his way. As a matter of fact, I have people who actually are TRYING to bet ME on that happening....MWEN PA OKUPÉ YO because I'm not a betting man.....but that "FEELING OF DOUBT" is still out there in the minds of some in the business. They seem to be taking a BANM GAD TOUJOU approach. Mickael will have to prove them wrong.

3) "OU KRAZÉ CARIMI" tag: In the eyes of many Carimi fans...MICKAEL is the one who is blamed for CARIMI breaking up after he decided that he could no longer continue. That is a TAG that he is going to have stamped on his head...until he gets rid of it. The quickest way to do that and get a public ON YOUR SIDE...is to COME UP WITH A HIT SONG or more. Will he be able to deliver on that front? Time will tell.

I'm not sure about the underdog factor. The guy has been the face of a high profile band for 15 yrs. The expectation will be high.
