When everything is going fine, dirt is easier hidden and masked. But when things aren’t right, even the most petty of ugliness finds a way to rear its ugly head. It’s no secret by now that the NY Yankees, with their overblown payroll, is the worst team in the AL East as of today and is struggling to fight off those “GB (games back)” numbers. Among the many rumors is that their ace Randy Johnson is finished for the year. Some think he’s hurt and not coming clean about it while others think it’s a classic case of dead arm.
Regardless what one makes of his performance of late, it doesn’t help when you add the fact that the players aren’t really getting along and aren’t seeing things eyes to eyes. The introduction of Ex Red Sox great Johnny Damon did very little to fight off the demons. The insurgence of all the overpaid free agents is rumored to cause friction among the players and clear thinking is taking a back seat to frustration and angst.
Add the fact that Carl Pavano (bruised buttocks) has yet to see any action this year, the fact that Randy Johnson is blowing 4 runs leads, and that Shaw Chacon has thrown nothing better than wild pitches all season – makes one wonder whether this team will even finish 3rd or even 4th for that matter.
As the moderator would say, "A Suivre!"
Better yet, "Enfin!"

I love Red Sox fans, what would you do without us.
You guys love to hate and rarely appreciate.
So, enjoy my losses and ignore and find excuses for our wins and we will see who gets the last laugh when the playoff season begins. Of course that is IF I make it to the playoffs, I'm a realist and we are playing like crap, sort of like last year REMEMBER Ti Boxer.

Red Sox and Yanks have a long history of bitter rivalry LadyK.  The Evil empire has been crumbling since last year. But the fall was masked by Shawn Chacon and Small. It's no longer the case this year.
Last year, the Yanks weren't even supposed to be in the pennant. They know they lucked out. It'll be interesting to see what management does if this keeps up.
But I do feel bad for the Yanks though - just for you LadyK, not for Tipoupouhce. :mrgreen:
