PRESS RELEASE FROM EMELINE MICHEL!

The Queen is Back: Emeline Michel Captures Hearts with her 9th Release, Reine De Coeur

Haiti's singer/songwriter Emeline Michel returns with her new single 'Gade Papi' from her upcoming album, Reine De Coeur (Queen of Hearts).

Her 9th release to date, Reine de Coeur is her first album in 4 years; her last hit was Racine Kreyol and the fans have been thirsty for more. On December 2nd, 2007 at Sounds of Brazil (SOB's), fans will have the opportunity to celebrate with Emeline as she releases her latest CD of 14 songs, which will also mark her 20 years in the music industry. Over the past two decades, Emeline has blessed the world with grace, consciousness, beauty and above all, her enchanting voice. With songs such as Flanm, A.K.I.KO. and Tankou Melodie on her roster, it is no wonder why she has managed to remain one of the best female performers in the world, playing regularly at venues in The US, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe & Canada.

"This album is a true reflection of life's moments: love, hope, pain, passion, and faith. I wanted this album to be raw and real so that people from all over could relate. Much of the album was written in Africa and Haiti. Though these two lands are thousands of miles apart, the rhythms and melodies of the two places truly serve as backdrops to the stories being told. This first song, Gade Papi, for example, addresses how aspirations and dreams can indeed come true. The song is there to encourage others but most importantly to remind us not to give power to those that lack faith in your dreams by giving up." With its upbeat tempo and feel good rhythms, this song delivers the sensation of a sunny and hopeful day.

Many other songs on the album will capture your heart. Awa , written and sung with the wonderful young singer Awa Sissao of Burkina Faso in French West Africa, is a conversation between two women from different parts of the world, yet they have the same woes about men. The friendly exchange between the two women will have everyone shaking their head in agreement. Yon ti Mo (One Little Word) with Daniel Beaubrun makes you want to climb under some white sheets with your significant other and just gaze into each other's eyes while whispering Yon Ti Mo. Mwen pa ka Lage'w {I cannot let you go) speaks of Emeline's eternal patriotism despite the negative portrayals of her homeland, Haiti. Fe Van Pou Mwen, written by Cito Cave and Boulot Valcourt, draws such an accurate portrayal of Port-au-Prince that you will feel as if you are walking through the Iron Market.

Reine de Coeur is sure to keep all the fans of Emeline Michel happy because there is something for everyone. At 6pm on Sunday afternoon December 2 nd, 2007 at Sounds of Brazil (SOB's), located at 204 Varick (Corner Houston Street) in Manhattan, fans will have the opportunity to hear the new songs, purchase the CD and enjoy a performance by Emeline and her full touring band.
