Nowadays, bands don't use other bands or group's song at bals? why?
fearing they might say they stealing other people's songs, the result, same songs, same hooks, same melodies, "menm Pawol".
I went to Kreyol la one time at Ramada hotel in Miami and surprisingly they played "Ave'w m'ap mache" and that was the highlight of the night... at bermuda night club same thing they played "Ave'w" daan junior, and I never danced with someone with such a passion that night..
sweet micky use to do that a lot and I loved it...

are you not tired of the same thing every week/end, every bals? is it really stealing if they imitated someone else?

Se pou sa ke'm te rinmin Top-Vice anpil.
Sometimes, they would play the song beeter than theoriginal band.
Micky, Kompa Kreyol, Carimi used to that.
I guess they've stopped for the reasons mentioned above...
Mwen rinmin tande leu yon jazz ap interpete yon lot....
I hope they go back to that practice instead of the usual bouyon rechofe..

Zip se yon nan raison ki fe some of our bands are so predictable. Yo pran quelques mizik nan repertoire yo et puis se sa yo jwe for about 3 years. That's one reason why I like Sweet Micky cause you never know what he's going to play. He jumps from Septen to Tropic, Mon colonel to Coupe Cloue etc....

Me it's the opposite of you guys. When they do that I get upset, I absolutely hate when a band perform another band song.

I missed that, when bands play other people songs. I don't see anything wrong with it. They just add their own flavor to it and it's cool. They don't have to do it at every bals but once in while is cool with me.

I think its an ego problem but T-vice does it sometimes still. They've done it with Zanmi. I would love to hear Nu-Look play some of Djakouts hits or vice versa. Its something different. Whenever you go to bal you can always expect the same routine. While we're talking about that, what about not playing old hits. You never hear T-Vice playing Kem Kap Bat or Sensation. I want to hear NU-Look play Cobay again. Zenglen has so much they can play but they always do Happy 50, Kok Gage, Ou Se, Same ol Same ol.

Tilouj...
I could understand if they spent they whole night playing other's songs, but 2 songs that we did not expected from them wouldn't hurt...
like Konpa kreyol used to do.. they mixed it.. one day "Ave'w m'ap mache", another time something else.

I know you are a big fan of Carimi... on their live "Poze aki"... has a song called "ce soir ou jamais", which is a zouk song... but that brought another flavor to the album.

I would love to hear Nu look, Djakout or any other major band play their own version of another band's songs. I am tired of hearing the same songs for 2 to 3 years. I think that the reason why they don't do it is because they're affraid to mess up playing another band's songs.

se micky ki te komencer avec tendance ca, lè li te fek deraper nan biznis music lan , avek empil intelligance musieu interpreter toute music ki tap macher a l epoque, et se konsa toute lot djazz ki vini apres micky fè minme bagay lan, parce ke lè yo fek paret yo pas gin album so yo interpreter, kounier an mwen penser ke yo pas fe sa enko, se yon facon pou yo kreye prope identite pou djazz la, yon facon pou moune pas di yo pas gin bon music, yap jwe music lot moune , se ca mwen penser.
