I just spoke to Haitian Compas Festival organizer RODNEY NOEL a few minutes ago. He basically told me that he has a few additions in their festival lineup in MAY.

*PHANTOMS has been added to the show...where they will replace DEGA. As you all know, when it comes to CONCERT SHOWS...PHANTOMS is one of the best. That would have them ON THE SAME STAGE AS THEIR NEMESIS ZIN. Will we see ALAN CAVE come up on the stage when KINO calls him on the stage to display a sign of UNITY? Wink A SUIVRE!

*BELO has also JUST BEEN ADDED to the show because of his recent success according to Rodney.

*NICKENSON PRUDHOMME is a "very strong possibility" to be added where he will get the crowd going crazy with 'Deception", "Zanmi" and more.

Thanks for the update Rodney.

KM!

Bélo in the Compas Festival?! What? Shocked Shocked Shocked

Mezanmi, Belo pa yon atis konpa non. Do people in the States actually know his songs and his style?

Rodney should know this better than everyone else. Haiti is way different than the US. Yes, Belo is very popular and successul in Haiti. But I doubt it will be the same here, especially when he has never played (if I'm not mistaken) in the US for a konpa crowd.

Hmm, m'pral suiv bagay sa.

What criteria does he use to pick bands? There are several new releases and three none releases are potential pick? I know Krezi is out of the picture but why not K-Dans and Fahrenheit or a T-Kabzy?

Nicky ak Belo pa gen plas yo la.

Okay your fest you do whatever.

Pat,

I don't know about Nickenson getting the crowd go crazy.
How is he going to do that?
Don't get me wrong.... the songs are awsome but, his voice is sounded like YON POULE KI AP PONDE YON ZE.

I agree with some of you guys. As much as I like Nicky, he already has a hard time projecting in a closed-space bal, I can't imagine him succeeding at an open-spaced festival w/ thousands of people...

In terms of Belo, there's a glimmer of hope because of past acoustic guitar performances by AC and Mika Benjamin, however, I'm not sure if his songs are that well-known by the mass public where they'd be able to sing along...

It's hard enough for even a top-tiered band like Zenglen to succeed at festivals, it's doubly as hard for a solo musician....

Why not trying to introduce FreCan at the festival; this could have been huge for them and FreCan. If possible that is.
