 |
|
Last night, I was listened to some old timers like Fantaisiste, Original Shleu-Shleu - Shleu Shleu de Dada Jacaman - Skah Shah and Djet X with a couple of buddies while shooting pool.
We ended up in a discussion about sax players - We cannot think of any good sax players in our HMI today....
We kept going back to Loubert - Ti Gerard and Ti Lucien - We talk about the Dejean Brothers on trumpet and only Djakout has a regular trombone player...
What really happens to the ligne vent in our konpa ... Is our new generation no longer interested in those instruments... If so why...
Since the Introduction of Mickey followe by Top Vice then T-Vice and so on... in the digital space, ligne vent is becoming more and more absolute....
Ligne the vent becomes a gig spot for most bands.. They just hire a couple of foreigners to come and play... Strangely enough, night in and night out, you do not know who is going to play the ligne de vent for most group...
The only group that I can say that I saw who had a ligne de vent that were haitians was Mass Konpa but I do not know those musicians...
Is it the Digital Band to blame.... Skah Shah, Djet-X including system were famous for their ligne de vent.... I remember Tabou could not survive without one and they had to add it.... What happens... Let me here some of your comments.... |
