PS: Keep in mind that this has a lot to do with the STEEVE KHE situation, and the belief that Djakout MIGHT UNDERSTANDABLY SO...RELUCTANT to do a Steeve Khe video next.
With all the soap opera that has gone down between DJAKOUT and STEEVE KHE, I believe that DJAKOUT should switch gears in terms of strategy for the next music video to PROTECT THE BUSINESS.
It is no secret that the songs that Steeve Khe has delivered on CD have gotten an excellent reaction from the fans. From "Libre D'aimer", to "Approuvem", "La Fwa", and "Mwen Mouri"...ATIS LA FE GOL AK DJAKOUT.
The first 2 music videos released from the cd are "LOD NAN DEZOD" (Pouchon vocals), and "Libre D'aimer" (Steeve vocals). The PLAN from the group IS to have "TET FRET" as the next music video...but if it were up to me...I WOULD CHANGE IT RIGHT NOW.
KOMPA MAGAZINE would SUGGEST to the DJAKOUT camp to do the song "MA VIE SAN TOI" as the next music video to help extend the life span of the new CD. Here are the reasons
*1) SLOW JAMS ARE WINNING ON THIS CD: No need to hide it, but on this DJAKOUT CD, the fans have connected MORE and QUICKER with the slow jams than the uptempo songs. I predicted that songs such as "PERSECUTION", "TET FRET" and "LA FWA" would score big for the band; but so far, I can't really say that it has happened the way that I thought that they would....and that's BECAUSE OF THE SLOW JAMS. They are doing well LIVE (talking about La Fwa and Tet Fret...NOT SURE if they even play Persecution often); but NOT as well as some of the slow jams.
POUCHON has 2 slow jams on the CD (Ma vie san toi and Je Le Jures), and in my opinion, "MA VIE SAN TOI", is the catchier of the 2. It is easier to learn for the public, and they have also started playing it LIVE which is a bonus. LI KA FE PI BEL MUSIC VIDEO if the script is well written.
*2) POUCHON ALREADY DID AN UPTEMPO VIDEO ON THIS CD: The first video for the CD was "LOD NAN DEZOD". You might as well flip the script and give them a POUCHON SLOW JAM as the next entry. The band has to avoid trying to categorize Pouchon as the VOYE MONTE/UPTEMPO singer, and having Steeve be seen as the SLOW JAM singer. YOU CREATE PROBLEMS when you try to TAG or LIMIT the singers that way.
*3) IT IS GOOD TO REMIND THE FANS THAT....: POUCHON does NOT only sing uptempo HITS. He has scored before in the slow tempo department in the old Djakout days, and as well as RECENTLY as the CD before this one with the mega hit "REYALITE A". AYISIEN BLIYE VIT...so FE YO MET GRANMOUN SOU YO by doing a video for this one. Djakout already has a few uptempo videos in their video catalog in my opinion.
It doesn't matter how many times you might have POUCHON sing the slow jams that STEEVE sings in the band LIVE; the reality of the situation is, the fans will always prefer to have the ORIGINAL VOICE that sang the songs on CD...LIVE. Having listened to the songs "Libre D'aimer", "Approuvem", "Mwen Mouri" SEVERAL TIMES on the CD and their stereo systems; they are USED TO having Steeve's voice singing these tunes. YOU CAN'T CHANGE THAT....but what DJAKOUT "can" do is HELP THE FANS SHIFT THE FOCUS ON OTHER SONGS on the CD by saying...MIN LOT BEL MIZIK LOVE KI GIN SOU CD A.
*SLOW COMPAS SONGS STAND THE TEST OF TIME MORE THAN UPTEMPO SONGS
For some reason, many artists/musicians believe in that theory, and I might be tempted to agree here. FANS remember slow jams more LONGER as it stays with them EMOTIONALLY more than uptempo tracks...that are usually seen as party tracks most of the time. SLOW JAMS that are HITS most of the time have this emotional connection that brings a lifelong experiencer the listener.
With all that drama that has gone down, now I am not sure if Djakout will get to shoot a music video for my favorite song on the CD "APPROUVEM"; but...that's a whole other story.
Thinking strictly in terms of STRATEGY.....I do believe the song "MA VIE SAN TOI" IS THE BEST CHOICE to keep the HEAT and VIBE of the DJAKOUT CD going in terms of the marketing aspect of it. SE LI KI POU PROCHAIN MUSIC VIDEO JAZ LA.
