MICKAEL CARIMI: "Pat mwen paka explikew sak fet sou parkway saa. We are sooo hype and happy about the turnout. Tout bagay bien pase. Mika was on fire and the band was amazing. Crowd reaction was insane. Nou lage a 2hr, we stopped at 7hpm... nou fini tout pakou a.
It was insane to see that we Haitians run this parkway. Le jou nou fai kostum, we will be the headlines of the whole parade on all us media...
bagay malè Pat... now I see why Haitians don't wanna understand when bands say no money no sponsors... sa pi mal ke Brazil nan coupe du monde... se champion or bust... but i can tell you Haiti represent..."

Why does the Haiti Carnival parade of bands occur at night?
I never understood that! |

After three years of absence, I finally went yesterday. According to me we control the parkway only by the number of people, and culturally we do not even come close to some other caribean nations.
I do not think that a float with musicians asking people to raise their hands is all we can culturally offer. We can do way better than that. Do not get me wrong, both bands moved the whole parkway well, all nations included. I believe we do need to represent our country with floats and costumes. Until then, foreigners will keep enjoying other WI cultures better than ours. _________________ MY NAME IS STILL ZENGLEN..........ALWAYS. |
