This is a very sensitive subject actually. It is one where people may come up with reasons why the market should be open or closed or even on pause. However, Our diaspora in the Dominican Republic may be the second largest one at this time ( Behind the United States). If there is a market for Haitian music in Haiti , I do not see why there should not be one next door in the Dominican Republic. Most of the stuff that happens to our brothers and sisters in DR also happen in Haiti. Haitians get killed , kidnapped , tortured in Haiti everyday. We need to get things right in our own country as well. If the bands want to boycott the market in DR , it is their rights. However, they have to do the same thing back home as well. Crimes involving Dominicans on Haitians are horrendous. Crimes involving Haitians on Haitians are horrendous.
