*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Is it an ADVANTAGE or DISADVANTAGE to be a band based or from MIAMI? Tell us why.

T-KLOD (X-TASSY keyboardist): "Well in my opinion there are pros and cons having a band based in MIAMI. For instance, Miami is known for having a lot of musicians, there are many rehearsal spots, many accessible recording studios, many producers, basically a lot of options on the creativity side. I think that a band based in Miami has an edge when it come those instances.

On the other hand , there are a lot of bands, which is not really the problem, because you can have a street with a mc donalds, a burger king, a wendys etc, and it would not be problem; but in the " HMI MIAMI" scene, not too many bands sound different. I feel like there is a lack of originality. And if you pay attention, out of the many bands that are from Miami, the only ones that stand out are the ones that have their own sounds.

Also there are many spots on the weekends that you can promote your music, they might not be popping like you expect, but each little night in Miami is important because they cater to a specific following, so if you are smart and hit those different clubs by going personally or through their Djs, your music will get played.

So like any place there are Advantages and disadvantages, just got to know how to make the best out of it."
