 |
|
ANOUCE JOACHIM of Radio Nago Pyramid Inter in NYC was at the party. This is what he told us.
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: 1) Kijan ou te we bal Djakout/Klass/5 Etwal la te passe?
ANOUCE: "First of all, I did my very best to get there on time so that everything started in front on me. When I got there it was 10:45pm. Klass had just finished checking their sound. Soon after they were done with sound check, they went back to their Hotel. Around 11:40. 5 Etwal started playing. 5 etwal played in their own dimension. They are not on a concert level as of yet. They are a good band but the public were just observing for the whole time they were playing."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Tell us the GOOD and BAD about 5 ETWAL's show?
ANOUCE: "5 etwal: The Good. They benefited from Djakout's sound engineer who is Guy Beauville. They have very beautiful songs that a lot of people know but did not make a huge impact.
The Bad: 5 Etwal suffered from lack of concert maturity. Although the people may love their songs but the momentum was more shifted towards Klass and Djakout. Aside from that the club was not packed enough for 5 Etwal to showcase their true talent to a larger crowd."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: The GOOD and BAD about KLASS' show?
ANOUCE: "The Good: They learned from their wardrobe fiasco at their last showdown, this time they came dressed for the occasion. They hired Thierry as their new sound engineer assisted by Lavaud. The best part of the night for Klass is when they played the song "Bagay 9" which is an up Tempo song that got the crowd up on their feet.
The bad: I think Klass is not quite ready for a showdown with a pioneer like Djaout in the concert arena. Klass' big mistake was when they opened their set with "Enmene moi" which is a slow tempo song that should have been played towards the middle of their set. To me Klass still didn't learn from past mistakes. Another mistake that I observed was when Pipo left the stage to join the crowd during the song "Mizik sa". Pipo has a lack of charisma for this type of showmanship. The crowd was not anticipating this move from Pipo therefore their reactions were not too warm. In conclusion, after 2 showdowns of this magnitude, Klass needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with different strategies to wow a crowd."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: The GOOD and BAD about DJAKOUT's show?
ANOUCE: "The Good: To be honest Djakout, when it comes to concerts still remains one of the top concert bands. Usually around 3 to 3:15am, The crow starts looking for the exit, but last night the crowd waited for Djakout to begin playing around 3:25am. They opened their set with La Familia which lit up Amazura. The sound was on point. Every concert they played, they come out with new slogan and new groove that the public responded to. From what I observed when Djakout was playing "Libre D'aimer"; I'm now convinced that the people's choice for song of the year was correct. The Highlight of the night was with the song "Pwofite" Which had the same crowd reaction as La Familia" which also convinced everybody that by far Djakout was the superior band of that showdown.
The Bad: I think the Djakout camp minimized Klass too much which in Football term is called un-sporstman like conduct or taunting. A lack of musicianship. Even in war, one needs to show some respect for the enemy. Djakout did not show that at all last night especially when Pouchon said "All Djakout's musicians are no longer in school and Klass was dismissed."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: How many people do you think the party had in terms of attendance?
ANOUCE JOACHIM: "To be honest, I don't want to give you an inaccurate number but in my humble opinion, I think they made approximately 1400 people. I tried to call Kensy to give me an accurate number, unfortunately he did not answer his phone."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Were you disappointed that this was NOT a showdown...or was it?
ANOUCE JOACHIM: "To me it didn't have the same magnitude and the same hype as the Klass vs Nu Look Showdown; but in my humble opinion any concert that features 2 mega bands is considered a showdown. Whether they show friendliness or musicianship or not. Klass may not have consider it as a showdown but I think Djakout did." _________________ phpbb:echo dicks;

I think Klass show a lot of improvement but they were facing Djakout. Showdown is what Djakout does for a living. I don't think lè Pouchon di tt mizisyen Djakout yo pa nan Klass anko paske yo tt fini lekol show a lack of respect. It was a clever line is u ask me. The respect was shown by both bands. _________________ NAP MÉTÉ LÒD NAN DÉZÒD AK ANPIL KLASS |

I was there ...
I'm gonna have to disagree with him on that part when Pipo left the stage ...everyone was around Pipo ..either taking pics or video ..and also one thing we have to remember is Klass only has 12 songs if not less these other bands have far more songs to pick from... _________________ Ann bay talan yon chans, konsa mizik nou va rive kote li supoze rive a |

Jodi a mwen mobilize. Pa gen gol a men k'ap bay la. Yeswa Klass matirize dyakout. Dyaz la gen animatè ki avè'l tou men ou pap janmè wè yo vin ouvè pos Klass kale paske li patap yon atitid Klass. Anous te mande Richie lajan misye pat jwenn li epi depi lè sa kè'l gwosè yon arena kont Klass. Pa vin fè sousou sou km. Se Klass ki anvayi yèswa e Boston pou s'am tande gentan sold out.
