*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Why is the HMI a territory thing for you? Why the emphasis on NYC revival? If you want to prove that point so bad, why not go ALL NYC BANDS with the festival?
URBAIN: "I am from NY; I grew up here. Back in the days, bands were willing to sacrifice, just to be able to perform here. Example, that live famous CD of Dzine, which was boot legged by Mad Dog, and incidentally brought fame to the group, was the result of a band, making sacrifices, because they valued the NY market. When the band travelled to NY that week end, most of the musicians lodged with their relatives.
Pat, if I could feature all the NY bands, I would. This is about the NY market, it is about having a major band or 2 in the NY market. One can never forget the impact that phantom & ZIN had. Moun NY konn gou bouche yo.
If the bands value the NY market and want to show respect for the fans in the north east, Labor Day fest is the stage for them to do just that. I am speaking of every band with no exception. Like Fanfan Ti Bot said, and I quote "let festival serve as a stage, where the bands cater to a broader fan base, by playing music". You can end your set by hyping your crowd, but playing music should be first and foremost. I would love to see bands put on a show, play some of their hit songs, while leaving the crowd hungry for more."
