He was JOUBERT CHARLES' right hand man for many years at his record store Nouvel Jenerasyon in New York...before Joubert moved to Haiti.
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Why will the HMI never have another Joubert Charles? Or will it? What made JOUBERT different?
JACQUES JOLICOEUR: "Well honestly...NEVER. There are many reasons. For one, compared to some producers at that time, Joubert treated everybody equally. He gave most of his bands 100 percent of his time, gave them respect, never shortchanged them like some other producers used to do. Yes Joubert had his flaws, who doesn't; but he was good at what he did."
