Former ZIN bass player, the respected YOUYOU (Carrie Legagneur) spoke to KM about....well, read below.

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: What are 3 BIG DIFFERENCES from the HMI band circuit from 10 years ago and RIGHT NOW in your opinion?
YOUYOU: "Well we had more creativity musically, more money; people who would take chances with investing and producing; and more venues to go to to see your favorite bands. People were less sensitive then nowadays ti sa'm di la ka kondane'm."

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Has the HMI in your opinion gone FORWARD or BACKWARDS in the last 10 years?
YOUYOU: "I would say it went foward in a sense; for example in the making of music videos, I think our brothers and sisters in music stepped up their game enormously, so that's a major step forward. Also not taking anything away from the deejay band thing, but that in itself is also a step, nou pat gen sa so kudos to whomever came with the idea."
