More heat coming down on the Boston party promoters for the KLASS/T-VICE party last night...and this time it's from one of their own. BLANDINE of LIQUID LOUNGE and WHITEMARK Entertainment (Did the show at Barclay's Center in NYC not too long ago), made the trip from New York to chek out the show. This is what she told us about her experience.
BLANDINE: "Hi Pat,
We pulled up at 11p and saw mobs of people in front of both doors. After paying to park we headed to one of the entrances.
Security was telling people if they had their ticket they could get in but there was so much chaos that you couldn't even get to the door.
The door where we were at had several hundred people in front of it. After about 10 minutes, security said that is it and they pulled down the gate and said the venue was at capacity.
People were angry because they had tickets in their hands and could not get in. At the main door, they had signs selling tickets for $50 so that angered people more. The assumption of the crowd was that they sold too many tickets at the door and now could not accommodate the advance ticket holders. The crowd became hostile!
Klass pulled up around midnight and things really started to get crazy. They almost could not get in. People were trying to get in with the band and that caused even more drama. My group and I decided to leave before something else happened. There was definitely a feeling that a riot might start.
I saw many folks from NY there as well and they could not get in either.
After we left, one of the promoters, told us there were only about 700 people inside and that the venue would not let them manage the door to let people with tickets in. So, if that is the case and we knew before we headed to the bal that advance tickets were sold out, at least 1,000 people did not get in to the bal. The promoter said he put out 1500 tickets and that every outlet was sold out before the bal.
It was just crazy!
If what the promoter says is true then he lost his money last night and folks will be asking for refunds.
If the police are correct then promoter fe dezod because they should not have sold tickets at the door if they knew the advance tickets were sold out and the venue can only hold 1500 to 2000 people.
I am sure there will be more options on what happened but one thing is definitely true. It was completely disorganized and that was the main cause of the chaos.
There should have been a ticket holders entrance and another entrance for folks that were buying at the door. And there should have been staff outside keeping things organized regardless.
Let me know if you have other questions.
Thanks,
Blandine
PS: We have tried to get in contact with one of the 2 promoters from last night's party...so far no response.
