We all differ in our criteria on what makes one beautiful. Some people focus more on physical appearance or a person's face in considering whether or not one is beautiful. Others focus more on personality and character.
Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. Years ago I was watching a talk show where a guy was talking about his girlfriend/wife. The way he described her, you would think that she was the most beautiful thing on earth. But when she came out..... Mezami she did not fit society's idea of beauty at all, but to her significant other she was the most beautiful thing he could have imagined.
Unfortunately, race/complexion does play a role in how some people regard another's beauty. Some people automatically regard lighter skinned people with a certain level of beauty based on complexion alone. At first glance, darker skinned people aren't given the same consideration. Have you heard people say "She's dark, but she's pretty"? As if darker skinned people can't be pretty.
Personally, I feel that the William sisters are beautiful. I don't follow them closely, but from what I've seen they seem to have matured and developed into beautiful, grounded, grateful, blessed, nice, intelligent enough, young women. They seem to carry themselves with a certain grace and dignity. I don't find them unattractive to begin with, but their inner qualities and they way that they carry themselves make them beautiful all around for me. _________________

To me physical beauty and beauty based on character are two different things that can be talked about exclusively.
There is no way anyone here can say that the Williams sisters are beautiful based on character. We do not know them. Or if someone does know them, please let me know.
So let's cut it with this beauty =character thing.
Therefore we can only speak abou their physical beauty.
I am amazed at how some people want to act like it is not perfectly natural to judge someone by the way they look physically at first glance. It is perfectly natural and human. Everyone does it.
Whether we want to admit it or not, the physical is the first thing you see therefore it does matter. It is not the most important thing, but it matters. |

What are different definitions of Beauty
beauty
- the qualities that give pleasure to the senses
Antonyms:
ugliness - qualities that do not give pleasure to the senses
Beauty- An assemblage of graces or properties pleasing to the eye, the ear, the intellect, the æsthetic faculty, or the moral sense.
Beauty consists of a certain composition of color and figure, causing delight in the beholder.
By what factor can one determine that the sisters are not beautiful.
I guess most of you who claim that they are not beautiful knows why you think so. You just don't have enough courage to elaborate on the real "beholder". ENFIN!!!! ONLY GOD KNOWS!!!!!! _________________ Always be yourself |
