Check out our interview with BELDJAZ leader/maestro RALPH MENELAS on BELDJAZZ. He also talks about NU LOOK, ZENGLEN, PIPO, GRACIA.

1) KM: Ralph...Ki prochain plan BELDJAZ?
Ralph: Album for mizik en foli. The album is half way Done.

2) KM: Can you recreate the magic with Beldjaz that you had on the first cd?
Ralph: Yes strongly I believe that! We have a reputation of bringing good music to the HMI so expect something good from us. We start working back this week again @ vice2K studio, so we gonna be ready for mizik en folie.

3) KM: You no longer have the same singer, so what guarantee do you have that the reaction is going to be the same?
Ralph: Well I remember before the Beljazz project came out a lot of people didn't believe in it, no one thought it was gonna be a success. Now that Beljazz CD is one of the best kompa Cds ever produced! Depi production lan bon lap pasé & nap make sure li bon!

4) KM: Do you compose differently for different singers, or do you have the singers adapt to your compositions?
Ralph: Well, as a producer you should always work with your singer to make he or she fit the music..konsa moun lan ap pase pi vit. Arrangement yo will stay the same!

5) KM: Do you think your Beljaz cd got the response that it deserved from the public or not?
Ralph: "Van vire" is a platinum Cd man! Mizik sa yo pap jam pase mod . To answer your question...yes it did.

6) KM: The Haitian public has this thing for SINGERS. Once they are used to someone's voice in a band or project, it is hard to replace. Zenglen/Gracia is one of the examples. Do you feel this is the case for BELDJAZ and PIPO?
Ralph: Oui gazman nu look tou! Mwen panse Beldjaz la is different, it depends on how u sell your singer. Mwen pansé nan ka zenglen avek Nu look la YO PA VANN CHANTEUR YO ASE...NEG YO NAN SHADOW. Leu gracia te nan zenglen li te ouve ko li jan'l vle same for gazman.

7) KM: Interesting observation. So you think in the case of Zenglen and Nu Look, their new singers Kenny and Pipo are in the shadow?
Ralph: Bon its not my place to say my friend. Beldjaz is different when it comes to marketing strategy for singers.

* KM: The majority of people seemed to agree that OU TE JWEN FORMULE PIPO a on the VAN VIRE CD. You've heard the NU LOOK cd, do you agree or disagree that Arly Lariviere JWENN formule Pipo a tou?
Ralph: Bon! Mwen tande Nu LOOK la oui. Beljazz se te djaz Pipo man, so li te deja konfortab from the start ou paka konpare. Les deux, pipo pat gen tout pressure sa yo nan Beljazz man. E mwen panse Arly gen ti travay pou li fe toujou nan mizik pa Pipo yo nan next Album.

9) KM: Ou ka elabore sou sa ou di a? Ou di ke gin plus travay ki pou fet sou mizik Pipo yo? Why?
Ralph: Bon nou pa vle tro elabore sou Nu look non pat lol.

10) KM: OK...One last question about Nu Look/Pipo since you still did not give us the answer...what do you think of the Nu Look cd?
Ralph: Li bon oui. It's nu look

11) KM: Back to Beldjaz..Any chance that Hollywood and you can work together again?
Ralph: Hollywood c yon chanteur ke'm remen anpil nou toujou pale, even if its not Beldjaz. I'll produce something with him in the future.

12) KM: How many songs will the BELDJAZ cd have?
Ralph: 12

Great interview

Ralph is in my opinion the most under-rated producer in the HMI.

Misye gin zorey. And he knows music. He wants to produce. He will get his credit in due time.

From 509's "Fake' to his latest superb CD Van Vire. He gets better and better.

Maestro, respect to you to working with the BEST SOUND in the HMI, Vice 2K Studios Listen to Kitem Viv and W2H and there is no comparison in terms of sound.

I can't wait to hear the Cd

So far VAN VIRE is the best CD from the time oh its release untill now..Pajnm gin yon CD ki soti apre VAN VIRE ki nan calibre li.

Ralph with this CD gave life back to Pipo career when everyone thought Pipo was dead and could not come back.

Pipo is still riding on VAN VIRE success.

Good Luck with the new CD Ralph...Maestro RESPECT.....!!!!
