JESSIE AL-KHAL: First of all, we were hoping that we could resolve this dispute amicably with Mr Bazile as we've had a long working relationship with him. However he opted to make matters public and it's only fair that we give our side of the story as well.

Mr Bazile has been the one in charge of handling the Eastern Parkway float for T-Vice for years and has always delt with the sound company, getting permits and so on; therefore this year again we asked him if he was willing to help and he agreed. This year things were difficult in terms of sponsorship as C.A.M, which has been one of our main sponsors for Labor Day Parade, pulled out at the last minute. We had two sponsors, Voila and Nopin, and were still looking for a third. Eventually we covered the remaining expenses ourselves to ensure we'd represent our country and culture well on the Parkway!

The float was built by Gerald Desir, whom we, NOT Mr Bazile as he claimed, paid in full prior to the Monday leading to the festivities. (see picture below).

Mr Bazile informed us that the sound company's cost would be $16,300 and assured us that he had provided $6,000 up front (which he did not) and that we had to pay the balance of $10,300 on Labor Day Sunday. I did just that! He never mentioned that it HAD to be a "bank check" as stated in his statement, therefore I paid the sound company $7,300 in cash and $3,000 with a personal check which they agreed to take! There was NO dispute about money that day.
I spent the whole day on Sunday with the sound crew that had received the payment and was ready to load the instruments on the truck. There was one problem: NO forklift! The forklift was to be provided by Mr Bazile as stated in HIS contract with them. The sound crew, Glasses and Fo, from Takeover Ent, other prominent people in the business and me were there until late at night waiting for the forklift which was never delivered. AGAIN We did everything in our power to find a forklift in the area that was not working too well which we fixed. By then, The sound crew started to maneuver their instruments onto the float and loaded the mixer, rack powers etc...Quickly after, they received a phone Call from Mr Bazile and everything Changed! Mr Bazile told the Crew to Go Back to the hotel and that he would be in NY by the float with a new forklift At 6 am...That's when we all left knowing that everything would be fixed in the morning.
To my surprise I received a call from Mr Bazile at 9 am stating that the soundcrew had left back to Boston because they were threatened by two men with guns. In the meantime, all our musicians and sound engineers were in the lobby already packed to go down on to the float. I quickly called the main sound guy in charge to find out what was going on and try to convince them to come back to no avail. I then tried contacting other sound companies such as DJ Greg, Burton of Amazura and so on to no avail.

We were willing to even pocket out more money to hire another sound company on that day just to make things happen! When we realized it was impossible to find the necessary sound and come out as expected, that's when we released a statement to inform the fans of what had transpired..

The big question remains: why did the sound company really leave? Is it really because of threats? Or was that story fabricated by Mr Bazile to cover his lack of responsibility and inability to meet his terms on his contract with the sound company.

The sound company's representative gave an interview where he agreed that it was NOT a money issue but rather a forklift issue which was agreed to in their contract to be provided by Mr Bazile. We went the extra mile to provide a forklift! There were many witnesses who can testify to that including Fo and Glasses from Takeover Ent. that were there the whole day to lend a helping hand.

How can we do everything as expected, put all this money out and then sabotage ourselves? What sense does that make?
Our reputation on the Parkway should speak for itself. Representing our country comes first, which we have done to the fullest since 1999. The band has made a name for itself in carnavals around the world for years!
Our credibility remains a reference for many bands and promoters to come! Mr Bazile's false accusations and misleading statement are a just way to justify his incompetence and greediness.

As the days went by and some of our fellow Haitian police officers from HALEFO investigated the events, we found out that the sound company: 1- was not from Boston but from Maryland and 2- Bazile's deal was not for $16,300 but $10,300. All kinds of questions started to come to mind. When I got in touch with Mr Bazile to ask him about this matter, he responded that his deal with the sound company is not our business and that the extra $6,000 was his commission. I then told him that it is not what we had agreed on as there is a difference between saying that the sound costs $16,300 when the real amount was $10,300.
Our deal with Mr Bazile was that he would keep any money from additional sponsors on the float for his services, that was IT.

The only mistake that we made was to trust Mr Bazile. About 2 years ago we decided that it would be in our best interest to deal with different promoters in the Boston area. However, being that he was T-Vice's main promoter for years, Mr Bazile did not take that well.
Anyone who lives in the Boston area knows that Mr Bazile is a one man show; he has a poor relationship with most of the Boston promoters, business insiders and so on. As a result of his greed, most bands in the industry nowadays refuse to work with him. Bazile went from being the Top Boston Promoter to throwing a party once in a while.

Words cannot express our disappointment and anger. We apologize once more to our many fans that waited till the last moment wishing to see the band on the Parkway. We did everything in our power to represent as usual, it was just beyond our control.
Once again we are taking this opportunity to thank our sponsors, fans, friends and everyone that gave their full support and understanding on this matter.

Jessie AL-Khal

Unfortunately this morning the men working for the sound company we contracted for the float were assaulted at gun point by two men. Understandably, fearing for their lives, they left back to Boston with out even consulting us . Their lives and instruments were in jeopardy; they therefore made the decision that was in their best interest although they were paid $16,000 in advance. We also spent the morning looking for another Sound company to no avail considering today's demand for sound. We apologize, first and foremost, to our fans and to our sponsors and are deeply saddened by these events.
T-Vice Management.
