In all society, It's a struggle for artists, athletes, politicians or anyone famous to come out of the closet and admit they are gay.
No need to say, in our little circle we have a low tolerance for homesexuality. Some fans, even some media members are quick to pass judgement if artists dress a certain way, or sport an unusual hairsyle, some go as far as criticizing an artist on the tone of their voice, if it's high pitched you will hear stuff like:" tande ti vwa li, misye sikre kan meme"
I just wonder about these million dollars questions.
1) HOW WOULD THE MEDIA/FANS IN THE HMI REACT TO A POPULAR MALE ARTIST THAT ADMITS HE IS GAY?
2) WILL WE EVER SEE AN ARTIST COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET ?
3) IF THAT EVER HAPPENS, WOULD THE FANS SUPPORT HIM THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE ?
4) WOULD IT BE A CARREER SUICIDE MOVE BY THE ARTIST TO EVER ADMIT SUCH THING ?

wow. good point. I don't think HMI is ready something like that
Not even that, we will not have any artists, promoters, radio hosts who will
admit that he or she is gay.

The social stigma associated with homosexuality has faded away over the past years making it easier for a lot of folks in american society to admit they are gay. Some cultures like ours still remain consrevatives about sexual lifestyles and may take time to join the bandwagon. It s no secret that some young ladies in Haiti have tried having sex with a female counterpart at least once and consider themselves as " CURIOUS' not homosexuals or bisexuals. I guess, when the first HMI personality marries to someone of the same sex as it is legal now in some states, the barrier will be broken. This is a somewhat taboo subject in our culture although we have a lot of haitian homosexuals. Nice thread!

Homosexuality is so taboo in our community.
Especially in Haiti, just the other day mtande
yon moun kap di "depim we... yon cote mwen kase...yo" 
Sak pi mal lan, des fois the so called homophobes
are the big time on the low low 
Maybe a female artist can get away with it but it
will be more difficult for the male.
