Kompa Magazine spoke to Haiti radio personality GILLES FRESLET of MAGIC 9, to ask him his breakdown on the HARMONIK CD and how it seems to be doing in the mother land. This is what he told us.

GILLES: Album nan. Juska prezan poko gen on hit sou album Let's go a, malgre ke genyen demand pou Angelique la. Moun yo juska prezan pa ko fe folie pou On muzik jan sa te ye pou jerem ak obsede. M'espere prezans yo en Haiti pou Ete a ak agresivite nan kad promosyon ap bay album nan booster.

KM: Which songs are working right now on HARMONIK's cd?

GILLES: As of right now, there is not a hit on the LET'S GO CD even though there is a demand for ANGELIQUE. Right now the fans have yet to embrace a song in the way that they did for the songs JERE'M and OBSEDE from their first cd. I hope that their Summer tour of Haiti, as well as more action in the promotion department will give the cd a boost.

Nicky is a good maestro and keyboardist, but he was inspired a bit too much by music from other bands for his own songs. On the song HARMONIK TIME you get a little Roberto/Ti Jo from "This Is It". The beginning of the ANGELIQUE song is inspired by "PARADI NAN LANFER" of Mizik Mizik, even though HIS is a little slower. On the song "YON SEL BONDYEU" you get a little of Gracia Delva's "Kile Tonton Nwel Ap Passe" from Gracia Delva from the Christmas with the Stars" cd, but it is not really too much of a problem. All those songs are beautiful, and I like the text for "ON SEL BONDIEU". Nickenson could have put another song on there because people have already heard the solo that he put on there already.

To resume, "LET'S GO" is a beautiful cd. They don't have a big hit on it yet, but is it too early to tell? I hope that the way they are playing the songs LIVE while they are in Haiti for the Summer, as well as the strategies that they will put in place in terms of promotion, will make the cd do its thing....because there are songs on the cd THAT CAN BECOME HITS."

But YES, HARMONIK is copying other bands A LOT. SANDERS pa kite anyen pou TI REGI. Nickenson is STILL stuck int he past with his annoying "trick" he does at the end of each solo

So true what he said especially "Yon Sel Bondye" solo is very similar with Kile Tonton Nwel ap Passe. Let's see if the Haiti tour helps them out.
