SYSTEM BAND former HIT MAKER MICHEL BLAISE, the composer/author of many of SYSTEM BAND's hits has this formula that he says has been working for him for years.

MICHEL BLAISE: "The most that I spend on a song when I start working on it is 45 MINUTES. I never spend any time pass that 45 minute mark, or else I just leave the song alone altogether. Many of the biggest hits that I've written in the HMI are under that, and that includes "BEEPER" from SYSTEM BAND."

BLAISE continues "I remember how I wrote "BEEPER". We were coming from France, and we had just landed in New York, when I observed a gentleman on the plane get some sort of beep. He looked at his side belt, then picked up his cell phone to make a call. I went to him and asked him what that thing was that just beeped. I actually asked him in FRENCH because the plane was coming from Paris, he looked at me and said that he's American, and he explained that thing to me. The chorus to the song came to me right then and there, and by the time I got home, I was done with it."

BLAISE concludes "45 Minutes and that's it. I have so many songs that I've left laying around and never went back to work on them because I did not complete them in 45 minutes or less."

or 45 minute sor less all together.

I can understadn the 45minutes or less at a time, because once I've been working on something for more than two hours I can't concentrate anymore and I have to leave it and do something else. Than I get back to it.

But 45 minutes all together on a song? I don't know.

He probably has a lot of good songs that are going to waste just because he couldn't finish them in 45 minutes or less.

How did he even come up with that number?
