That's one thing that really made a 360 in the HMI...because back in the days...FANM PAK KONN KANPE DEVAN JAZZ...THAT WAS A NO NO NO NO NO....Good girls don't do that....Sit down until someone ask you to dance...MADEMOISELLE VOULEZ VOUS DANSER...
Devan jazz la se te pou flanneur yo...flanneur ki pa vinn ak fanm...nou te rele yo FANATIK KANPE YO...
Today the parties are like concerts...most people are standing up...whereas back in the days, the promoter made sure that there is a seat for everyone....and no lady would stand up because someone would offer a seat anyway...because it was so unladylike not to have a seat....
Well like I said that one is a complete 360.....Well at that time the basketball players used to have their shorts close to the butt, now they have it close to the knees...
Most people don't dance konpa anymore....the time of KLERE BOUK SENTIWON is almost over...Now the fun to many is to watch the artists instead of enjoying their ANBA TI VANT....Since it's no longer about the pleasure of the YAYAD...but the pleasure of LEVE LES MAINS...so having the ladies in front is sure not a problem to today's konpa fans....
THANK GOD THERE IS STILL TROPICANA where konpa fans (males & females) can really drop some good YAYAD in front of a partner rather than shooting blanks...Konpa was not made to dance with the GHOSTS or Imaginary partners...it was meant to dance with a partner...just like tango...IT TAKES 2 TO DANCE KONPA...

I agree. Women usually stays in fornt of the band to support or admire their artists. Gason pa bezwen devan stage.

I'm sorry I have to disagree with the Muscular King-D.....
Ou kanpe kote'w vle these days.....
Some women do it for the Opportunity of making some kind of visual contact with the Artist.... 
Some Men do it as a sign of Appreciation for the Quality of Music that's coming Thru their Ears......
I grew up in the ERA where if a Lady Stood in front of the band for more than 10 seconds....you'd be labeled a " FANM KAP BAY TCHECK" ( Not a Nice Label  )
Today...a Woman who found standing in front of a Band is labeled a " FANM KAP JERE BIZNIS DJAZ LI" (The New and Revised HMI Label for a Groupie)
Oh, wi djaz sa gen ampil bel timoun kap mache deye'l....
